Hi all:
According to a couple of companies, their iso foam board products have finishes that can be used a the finish surface of an interior wall or ceiling, (Dow Thermax, Rmax TSX 8510). Have any of you done this? Pics?
Here is my dilemma. I've insulated the bottom 8' with standard FG batts and covered with door panels. The upper walls, up to 22' at the peak of scissor trusses, will be a pain. Using standard batts covered with drywall or metal lining panels are an option for the walls, but the ceiling is another matter.
Trusses are 4' OC and want about R38. Could put in 4' wide batts that are 8" thick (R25) plus 2" thick Thermax. The Thermax would make for a total of R39, plus would provide a finished ceiling. I would need to run conduit along the Thermax for lights. Thermax is expensive, but a DIY install, even at 22' feet in the air.
Or, would blow-in FG or cellulose work in the ceiling? How would that work in such a truss?
