As the title says, looking for feedback on the Moasure measuring device. It looks like it might be handy for site prep and material volume calculation. It's a bit on the pricey side for the Pro 2 kit @ $899, but if it saves over ordering a truck or two of material it could pay for itself. My son is getting ready to build a house and shop, we are putting in a 900 ft drive at at our current house and are strongly considering building a new house for ourselves. I could see it being helpful for all those projects.

Link for those that have not seen it: Moasure

but Dan I can't believe you are thinking of building a new house again!
That was kind of the plan all along Larry. We bought this spec house new hoping if we decided to build our "forever" house this one would be easy to sell being less than 5 years (hopefully) old.

Some recent developments have raised the sense of urgency on finding property and building. That's also why we need to build a new driveway, sadly our current shared driveway arrangement with the neighbor has hit some difficulties. So rather than deal with the drama, we are going to build a new driveway on our property and step up the game on looking for property. I'm strongly considering the purchase of a Compact Track Loader to facilitate these projects as well.

No, unfortunately the Mileseey or other laser devices can't do what the Moasure device claims it can. It claims measuring X, Y and Z positions at your chosen locations and then is capable of generating a 3D map of the measured area. It will then calculate cut and fill volumes or required volume of fill material to be removed or imported to the site. All of this capability is supposedly built into the app. It also supports exporting via DXF to CAD programs for integrating into site plans or architectural models.

It has a 60 day return window, I think I'm going to give it a try.

I constantly get ads for Moasure on Instagram. I wish I had known about it a few years ago when I was starting the project I’m currently working on. It seems like it would have made life so much easier. I’ll be interested in hearing how it works out for you.
