First off I know nothing about unitool that one I had to look up; but I had a good chuckle because the warranty kind of reminded me of ten feet out the door or two seconds later when the door closes behind you.
Don't get me wrong I sure they will stand behind everything, but the reading went something like...If we see any hammer marks, cheater pipes, two 600 lb. gorillas jumping on it, a drunk brother-in-law beating his( you fill in the blank), the breath from your mother in law, file marks, air gun abuse, dropped from fifty feet ,thrown in anger, blah, blah, blah then you can forget about it.
Not it any of those words mind you but you get the idea!
I don't know, Woody. Seems like they just took the time to be very detailed in their explanation so there's no surprises and no unrealistic expectations. "Limited" warranties are very common with products. They're warrantied against any manufacturer defects. If a tool is designed to take, let's say 40 pounds of torque and it only takes 30 before it breaks, that's defective. If it only breaks at 50, that's not defective, it's designed that way. If a tool is designed only to be used by hand and you break it with a 3-ft cheater pipe, that's not a result of a factory defect. At least they're not beating around the bush about it and are being very upfront. In essence "Limited Lifetime warranty" don't you just love all that legal double talk.
As I said I am sure they will replace items but give me Lifetime and not use the word limited.
