new to these forums, infact this is my first post...i have been looking into floor coatings for a long time, infact about 3 years. recently bought a new house and want to coat the floor of the garage on the house (basic 2 car) as well as a custom built workshop garage in the backyard (roughly 36x24) after looking into many of these products, i became concerned about the possible cons associated with some of these products. i had heard about some that easily chip away due to heavy/sharp items hitting the floor, or welding/grinding sparks falling and melting away, or causing the epoxy to physcially rise from the ground. i started looking into this company, http://armorcladepoxy.com/ and think that i like what i see. they appear to have all the right things to say to make me want to pull the trigger and make this my fun new project before fall and winter come. my main focus' will be automotive fabrication...cutting, welding, removing heavy parts, possibly dropping something (god forbid)

any thoughts on this?

any other brands i should be looking into that could suit my needs?

trying to do this for as little cost as i can. i see some of these companies wanting upwords of $1K if not more for their products, yet i have seen the much cheaper brands have the issue of pealing, chipping, or just simply not laying down

Hello and welcome to the site.

Suggestion is for you to look around the flooring sections at other posts and speand a few days writing down what you like and find. There is tons of information on Epoxy and other floor covering options here. If you ask a blank questions about a product you may get opinions instead of fact. Many manufactures are on this site daily so if you find a supported MFG of a product you can get support on the forum or direct with the MFG.

You can also do a search at the top of the website page and look for ArmorClad with a space between the work and no space.

No experience with ArmorClad myself but did have them in my research and did not select due to support or examples of real users with success.

thank you for your reply Legacy. what does your product offer me for the uses at which i need a floor coating? again, looking for a strong coating that stands up to potentially dropping things and shooting welding/grinding sparks. would like the floor smooth, yet somewhat grippy and easy to clean up. those are really all of my criteria

You don't need a coating. You need sheet steel. Coatings are polymers, they melt under high heat or will at least mar. Coatings do better than raw concrete against impact but there is a limit.
