Armorcoat Epoxy?

Epoxy Prep help anybody?

Hello All, I was intriged by a epoxy that i found called Armorcoat. It is a 2 part solvent based epoxy. Anybody use this or know a friend that used this epoxy? It seems to be priced right at that mid range budget costing me $330 to do a 600 sf gargage. All replys are greatly appreciated. Thanks

I guess nobody has? Well i will be the test dummy. Ill post before and after for all to see. I figure this epoxy is going to cost as much as the box type and its gotta be just as good if not better!! Doin it this weekend and will post pics once complete

well i got the product Armorcoat at the beginning of November but it got too cold to lay it. So i am gonna be laying it on Friday hopefully. I acid etched it back in early november but mother nature wouldnt couperate with me. This time around i rented a floor grinder and grinded the floor down a bit and pressure washed it. I also etched the floor with a etching product that was alot safer than the muratic acid i was using. Here are a few pictures of my prepped floor. If anyone has any concerns before i press on please let me know. I am crossing my fingers that my floor will pass the moisture test i am doing. Thanks to all of you that post great information to help diyers like myself.

Prep looks great. Was there any expiration dates on your product?

good question. I checked and couldnt find an expiration date. I did store it in my spare bedroom closet over the winter since it said store at room temperature. I didnt wanna take the chance on having it go bad in the garage. I am just about to start. I got my fingers crossed and i guess you guys will see the results sooner than later and you will get the good or the bad either way.

well its been a few hours since i finished my floor. It was scary but it looks good so far(My fingers are still crossed). I didnt think that the gallon of A and gallon of B would go that far but it did. Really didnt have any big hiccups on laying the floor. I decided to paint the floor first and then go back and flake it. The only hiccup i had was underestimating the fumes. Even though i thought i had everything sealed it still managed to get in my house. Now my house smells like a korean nail salon. Here are some pictures of what it turned out like so far.

Looks Great! What Color and Flake combination did you use?

I used Black, White, and a little Gray flakes. So its the morning and the floor has no major hiccups. I have been praying to the epoxy gods so thats probably why . I put the flakes on a little thick in some spots but im not worried about it too much. All i got to do is scrape and shopvac and im hoping to put the clear coat down tomorrow.

I used armorcoat on this floor about 5 yrs ago. It was alot of work but it has held up well.

Yep Ruddy you are right. All that matters at the end of the day is "are you satisfied". The anwser cant be completely anwsered until my floor holds up for at least 5 years.

Just watch where the tires are here in the first few months. Mine never lifted at all, but some tires left a mark that is like a yellow stain, it only happened with some tires and the problem was only when it was new, there is no problem now.

They make a decent product. We have similar coatings for a little less money.
Check this floor we helped a customer with. You are looking at a plywood floor with (2) coats of epoxy on it. Yes, I said plywood!!

LegacyIndustrial Im sure your product is good but I can only speak of what I have worked with and thats Armorcoat. The last week I have been driving on it and it seems to be holding up well.
