Sense my wife worked at a University that was connected to 2 hospitals I have had a chance to pick up many an old metal rolling cabinet used in the hospitals. I have been using them for the past 30 years. They are very well built and cheap when you can get them. Nice find. I use old lateral check files form the days they saved checks. the cabinets are 42 inches wide and have 2 drawers for every one a normal cabinet has. I have been using them for 35 years. I have 15 of them between here and my farm. I keep all my construction tools, plumbing tools, clamps and things in them. File cabinets are great for power tool storage I keep all my routers, sanders, saws and the like in them. It keeps the clutter out of the shop and dust off the tools in my cabinet shop. I started using files for tools 35 years ago and still have not found anything better for storing some items. I have over 450 clamps here in California and more on the farm. The files are great for clamp storage. I can't get my long Bessy clamps made in Germany in them but then I have a rack for all my pipe and long clamps.
Tool boxes are not always the way to go. I have carts like yours and I put small sanders and other machines on them. They are a perfect height for so many things.
