No. They contract Wilde. Armstrong is a heavy military supplier so you can be sure it's all USA; even though they're part of the Apex-Taiwan mafia. Their stuff is top notch.

To be more specific, I'm pretty sure they use Western Forge for the fixed-joint pliers (dikes, lineman's, long nose, etc.), Wilde for their slip-joint pliers (including the tongue-and-groove pliers), and Grip-on (Spain) for their locking pliers.

Same here; I have a pair of Armstrong small diagonal cutters that came from WF.

How can you tell ? Are they somehow marked?

Western Forge made pliers generally have a small WF somewhere near the pin that holds the pliers together. All of my Craftsman Pro pliers have it. Generally near the center of the pliers, you'll see a brand written in a circular pattern such as Craftsman, Armstrong, etc.. Then in between that, there is a part number followed by a space then WF.

Does western forge make good tools? I know they make pliers and such for SK, craftsman, etc. So if you buy an SK diagonals for 40 bucks is it the exact same thing as the $20 craftsman? Or does western forge make the tools to different manufacturer specs? It seems theres a lot of the exact same tool out there, just different color handles at different costs.

By and large, it is the same tool with a different color handle.
