i love this 1770 window saw, i use it lots but it broke the push rod that pushes the blade. Fortunately there are a few vendors that still had the part so its fixed up again. It looks like this tool is discontinued now though and only the onyx window saw continues. I have both and i like the 1770 way better. im worried though that if its discontinued that blades might become unavailable? if thats the case though im going to have to buy an equalizer saw as the onyx is not an equivalent saw. just saying.

Seeing as they have individual part numbers, would Astro sell individuals of your new extended pinless swivels sockets?

I'd also be interested in individuals of the non-extended variety.

Been wanting to try them, but don't need a full set.

Will the Astro 78300 ratcheting wrench with retaining clip for the 1/2” drive nano sockets be produced again? If not, is there any other 22mm ratcheting wrench that has a retaining ring? Thanks in advance.

Thats interesting... i see the retaining ring but it looks like its pretty far behind where the notch of the nano sockets would clip into ? Has anyone tried this combo before ? Im curious now

I haven’t tried it on the 1/2 inch but on the 3/8. It works fine on the 3/8 sockets except the couple largest ones. They made the socket on the large sizes with the part you would put the wrench on shorter. They did this to beef up the intersection to prevent the socket from breaking. Not sure it’s an issue on the half inch. You can also use the clip from a socket rail and stick it into the drive side of the socket after you put the wrench on, and trim most of the clip away, adding only a little to the profile.

We're still in the field testing and prototyping phase to dial in the changes needed to maximize torque delivery and not make them too cumbersome. What we had at SEMA was a 4 days old 1st article
I have the 3/8" drive set and have been using it everyday. No problems or issues so far. They work very well with the Nano impact wrenches.

16mm to 24mm range in the 1/2" drive set will work for me.

Any word on availability for the 401k bit sets (401k6 or 401k3)?
Will you offer the 2 extra hammer bits of the 401k3 as an addon for people buying 401k6? I think the middle (7") size overlaps in both kits?

Anyone know of a supplier that has the 401K hammer in stock? I ordered one from Summit in the beginning of November and the estimated ship date keeps getting pushed out. I'm starting to think they are made of unobtainium.

Any update on the status of the 78300 wrench? I didn’t see any confirmation that it was discontinued, but that seems to be the rumor?

78300 was discontinued due to lack of sales, and 78318 covering the same size range of sockets (up to 24mm). But we have more in development for the 1/2" nano sockets as well wrench wise.

Good to hear. Should we expect a shorter version of the 78318 in the near future?

I saw these tonight on the local OfferUp and I was curious how old they are.

When did Astro start and stop offering wrenches? Was there a metric set too?

@Astro_Pneumatic_Tools Hi Chris, question for you guys.....Is there any technical reason why nobody produces a Universal/Swivel socket set that goes above 24mm in 1/2 drive? I would never use a 10 or 12 mm in 1/2 drive so I find them a waste of money and toolbox space.
What about 17 to 27 or 19 to 30 mm in 1/2"?

Thanks in advance!

I could be in the minority here, but I use a lot of SAE, and there's not a lot of large size hex stubby sockets out there. I recently purchased a Capri Tools 1/2" drive 1-1/8" stubby socket because there was no Astro nano available in that size. It works, but I do miss the external hex that the Astro Nanos have.

Agree and I think that a 1/2 drive Nano set 17 to 27 or 19 to 30 mm would be the perfect match and complement to their Astro 78319. I don’t use SAE so you guys say what you’d like in range.

What is everyone using Nano sockets for? I'm a weekend warrior just doing maintenance on my own vehicles but can't say I've often (ever?) run into a situation where I was wishing something like a Nano socket existed.

That said, I'd love to add them to my toolbox just in case....

I use them a lot on my m12 stubby and my Astro nano air impact so much so the sunex shallows have lost their place in my cart. They also get used on hand ratchets pretty often when space gets tight.

Caliper bracket bolts is probably my number one use for 3/8.

1/2 is wheel hubs, suspension bolts, caliper brackets.

I kept hearing something in other threads about some amazing new compact ratchet that Astro came out with recently that's been out of stock. Can someone share the part number and maybe some info on if it's back in stock anywhere yet?

I think you would be talking about the 78318 "Extra-Long Flex Head Nano Socket Ratcheting Wrench". It is made to work with their Nano Sockets and combined with those makes for a really handy tool. I don't think it is in stock though and I have no information about when it might be.

Yes that's what it is.

Though now that I look at it, if I wind up buying a 17 x 19 XL flex head ratcheting wrench, like one of the popular Kabo-made ones, then I think that does the same thing as this albeit with a less functional handle.

It wont retain the sockets (they fall out) and the KABO style will result in a thicker package altogether with the socket inserted
