I have a bunch of 40sl also. I could use a body for one of them.
I have several 40sl magnetic work lights. I love them. I have three at home and two in my shop. And I have a couple I use for parts. Is there a way to get a charging port? I have at least two that have become difficult to recharge.

Thanks
Shoot me a PM, i'll see what we can do.

Hopefully as used with an impact wrench, I don't want no part of that floor jack helping hand :D
Rear caliper bolts on an 06 Jetta, obstructions prevent an impact from getting anywhere near the bolt heads. Adding an extension and U-joint robbed too much impact torque where even an Ingersoll rand W7152 didn't budge them!

Even threading a standard breaker bar handle between the spring and shock was a bear, with an ultra stubby nano bit socket and the ratcheting wrench handle for the nano sockets it would have given many better options to get at those darned things.

Don't worry, safety squints were engaged before jacking up that breaker bar handle!

I've had some AP tools for quite some time, but recently added more...

Love the Astro Nano ratchets... Bought a couple of them, liked them so much I bought every one they offer (seven if your counting). Awesome feel and performance for such a budget ratchet! I love the compact heads on them, the balance and feel overall, and of course their ratcheting mechanism and relatively low back-drag.

I've been recommending them to everyone! I do wish you would offer some flex head versions though.

A few of them laid out here along with some other 3/8's. Koken, Tone, SnapOn, Matco, KTC... In good company!

mid size 3-8 ratchets - 7.jpeg

Also picked up the Astro 1/4" swivels... Again, nothing earth shattering, but a great little swivel set for a great price!

Astro 1-4%22 flex sockets - 2.jpeg

But the big game changer for me are the Astro Nano Impacts in 3/8 with the Astro wrench. Already made my life much easier three times in the past week. Nice!

Getting ready to also order the 1/2" Nano impacts and waiting for the 1/4" Nano impact sockets to become available again???

A set of 71012 Razor Wrenches also on order, but back-ordered??

Great job AP coming out with high quality, innovative tools and offering them at decent prices.

Astro,

Could you please list the sizes that will be included in the 78320 set?
If it were another category probably, however with our Nano Socket line as we come out with sets no one is currently making - other brands are highlighting that new set as the next low hanging fruit to carbon copy. You'd think it's pretty simple, put together your own popular size range, but many of those that are following us are choosing to just do our exact sets and ratchets now instead of making anything new.

So can't really release many details until sets are just out, going forward.

I just bought a 72SL work light that I keep on my lathe - is it OK to have it plugged into the charger all the time?
Yes

Not sure how the hell I missed the new 71012 ratcheting wrench set, but count me in for a set once they're actually available.

They're out, recommend you pick one up soon if you plan on getting them. They've been leaving at a rapid rate.

I didn't see them in stock anywhere.
I can order it from Amazon, but delivery says June 12th-25th.

Are you expecting them to sell out or no longer be available soon for some reason?

We will likely not have enough stock at the current rate of demand based on when we have the next batch finished. It could be Amazon sold out and simply has more on the way.
There are a few outfits with the set still in stock/showing for sale as well.
Astro,

Where can we get this wrench organizer?

1748623083584.png
Taiwan? Haha, it was simply an option we had from a packaging supplier to provide. It's less of a tool box wrench organizer IMO, in a branded box you dont want them flying around so they are in there sort of snug, you need two hands. One holding down the holder in order to pull the wrench out with the other, where as in a tool box drawer usually they are more freely sitting in slots.

Any plans for a polished set, or just the satin?
We went all in on Satin Chrome.

There are prototypes of a flex head set of these, but the cost becomes 2X the current set oddly enough and I think that doesn't really fit.

Well all of that *****. I'm sure the next batch will be more expensive too.

When will the Astro 78301 be available? How long is it?

Will release more info as it comes out. It's pretty small though, palm sized.

Will be the same price to our customers. Since we dont set pricing, tools are usually cheapest when there is stock out there in the market. As the lowest priced options go out of stock, what remains are sources who still have stock at higher asking prices and the perception is prices are increasing, but it's simply what's not been bought up yet that's left.

Not you, tooling for SAE simply wasn't ready to go yet and we just made 'em ASAP.

Let me just make a case for a deep Nano set. I needed a pass-though 18mm for a recessed strut nut. I ended up having to use Nano 18 + Nano 17 + Klein pass-through 17 to get at this nut with a 6mm hex through. Later torqued it with a 17mm torque offset adapter.

The AP Nano platform is the perfect launch pad for a range of pass-through sockets (possibly without an internal square drive, for increased pass-through diameter). Perhaps 12-point as well, since some strut nuts are 12-point.

Or; if not wanting to make pass-through deep sockets.. what if you just made a hollow pass-through extension for the existing Nano sets? Drawn example attached. This item would make the Nanos a huge contender for strut nut tools.

Ok, someone sell me the thinner ratcheting wrenches.....the thin end is great for brake caliper slide pins, but I already have wrenches for that. Throw some situations where a thin ratcheting end is useful.......

I'm with you. That said, if you're making a thin open end (which I do find useful), and you can keep the ratcheting end that same thickness, I don't see any reason not to.

@Astro_Pneumatic_Tools I recall you saying last year that you guys were working on a new and improved 658 Stubby Air Slide Hammer. Any idea when it will be available? Also, what improvements were made?

They were on field test for most of a year, had to strengthen the handle as a result but performance feedback was good, it's more powerful basically. In production now, no ETA yet though.

How much more power compared to the old one? While it's a great idea I wasn't real impressed with the one I have, couldn't get a CV axle out of my wife's Honda with it.

Hopefully it's better than the one you have.

Havent tested a production unit, but around 1.4-1.6X. If you need to budge stuff with a puller semi-often send me a pm, I'll get you on the production field testing list.

I managed to break my 78830 last night (incredibly easy warranty process, already taken care of this morning!) but have really enjoyed it for stuck rotors on Land Rovers. They're all I really work on, and they have very big brakes that even the largest 3-jaw pullers I can find won't fit on. If you ever update this puller, I'd love to field test a new generation of it. Awesome tool and way better than the OTC one I rented before this. I do wish that it had some kind of sliding retaining bar built in that I could tighten for compression on the jaws so I didn't have to mess around with a ratchet strap, as that is the most time consuming part of setting it up and packing it away every time - definitely something I tend to fumble around with.

As far as I'm aware the OTC is the only competitor tool on the market for pulling large HD drums and rotors. Anything bigger is probably custom made or only supplied by heavy equipment manufacturers at their dealers. The Astro 78830 is definitely the best tool you can buy for big rotors right now.

why are these wrenches so popular and selling out? I thought people hate non reversible ratcheting wrenches
"Here's a ratcheting wrench, but 40% slimmer than before!"

"Make it reversible!"

*Adds reversing pawl mechanism, tests it, remakes it to withstand X.X times proof torque standard, adds reversing switch on top"

"Here's a.... reversible ratcheting wrench"

"We already had those!"

I picked up an Astro 1240 compact pneumatic angle grinder recently. The blue one. I rather like it. It seems to have one of those "needle style" grease ports at the angle head, but the manual doesn't say anything about injecting grease - only mentions air tool oil. Does Chris or anybody else have an opinion about injecting grease in that port (which I assume lubricates the bevel gears) ?
