What company wouldn't want to have to catalogue and wholesale 10 or 11 times the part numbers they otherwise do?

What customer wouldn’t want to call a 1800 number during business hours and wait on hold and try to describe the one socket they need and hope its the right part number and spell out there whole name and address and credit card and email and phone number and hope in a week they explained the right one and hope the person on the phone wrote it down right. And not have any idea how much it’s going to cost until the end of the call.
dont get me wrong I’m glad Astro offers this but honestly it seems like a real hassle. Harbor freight does it the same way. Honestly it’s why my Taiwan tool money go to tekton. Just so easy to order a replacement for a lost one or if you just need a single socket or whatever.

Re. Singles, it is because they are doing it as a favor to people in the know, not as a way to sell large quantities of singles. Most B2B sales don't have any option, be glad they are willing in general...

The list is long of brands that sell direct, and have a retail website with holiday sales and coupon codes, and many of those don't also make power tools that each have 50-100 parts they stock, and therefore also dont have to carry the over 12,000 parts we do.
We're not a retailer going back the 45 years or so we've been in business, 99% of our business and the vast majority of parts sales included is B to B, and the businesses we do that with prefer we provide customer service vs a short cut around them.

In this case we dont actually control Amazon nor do we set MAP pricing, there's usually several sellers of our tools on a page. A $5 wrench might go on Amazon for $35 until there's enough people stocking it to encourage the price to move down from competition over it. In this case it might just stay at $35.
We're listed as a manufacturer, so unlike a retailer like Tekton we cannot set or influence the sale price of anything. We're simply the source and have control over brand, trademarks, often we have trouble lobbying someone to correct mis-written features, listed countries of origin or even wrong images used on the website.

I used my turbo step drill bits for the first time today. 12 holes in 1/4" and 1/2" plate steel. It was impressive the way the 5/16" and especially the 1/2" bits just ate through the plate without pilot holes in a ****** drill press.

man, I'm really wanting to try those. my only hesitation is that I usually sharpen my twist drill bits and use them for a very long time (anything 3/16" - 1/2" or larger). For the price, I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on a set of turbo step bits since I don't think I would be able to sharpen them myself. I use regular step bits all the time, but they are pretty cheap so I don't mind that I can't sharpen them.
@Astro_Pneumatic_Tools do you sell the turbo step bits in a smaller set count? I'd love to try a 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" to see how I like them before buying a whole set. I bet they rip when using them on a lathe.

Unable to discuss Nano tools publicly anymore just due to several brands at this point seemingly dedicating nearly their entire new product pipeline to mirror or play off of each of the new things we come out with.

Chris, are you able to disclose anyone you might have rebranded the tap and die set 7582 for? The jaws fell out of my smaller tap holder, 7580-STH, and when I emailed in to Astro I was told the set was discontinued so I couldn't get a replacement part. I'm hoping there's another vendor out there that you might have rebranded these for and maybe they have replacement tap holders.

Good morning to you Chris. I bought this set of drill bits for work, and a number of them are getting dull. They get lots of use. I have yet to find a place that can sharpen them. Do you sell the individual bits for this set separately? Thanks for any insight. Keith

Since we now have someone FROM Astro here with the straight story, I'm just curious if you have access to seals for Astro 4 ton porto power stuff from maybe the 90's. I contacted the company but got luke warm to HUH? type answers. I have an older Astro 4 ton that the seals blew in the primary ram and the spreader. No one seems to admit to making them and have seals I'm attaching the pics of the ram and the seals. Curious if you have any better info. Also have a floor jack that leaks down so it need overhauling also.

TS29 is still in production, just back ordered. TS21 is on hiatus, raw material prices have spiked in cutting tools on the manufacturing end so we can only produce in large volumes to make things feasible. Items with lower demand in these categories we'll have to see if things stabilize.
For the hydraulics. You've had someone from Astro here since 2013.
Unsure if we would have the exact correct spec part you need from porta powers from that era. The jack is likely, depending on generation, if its Japan made ect.

Didn't realize you were here until just recently. Pretty sure jack is Japan. The jack and the porto are both probably from early to late 80's now that I think of it.
