I smoothed the edges, and rounded the corners. Also decided to use a different screw type all around I believe. I have some short, course threaded screws that are not cast but steel. No points to grind off/smooth out and I think that if I work the JB right after recessing the'll be almost invisible. All the parts are near the wood stove letting the primer cure ATM.

I’m thinking , wood stove? Where the hell you at Canada?

Then I looked and saw Michigan….

Wasn’t knocking the job you did, made due with what you had and I’ve been there.

I had years of “Garage knowledge “ under my belt when I started in the trades. Went to help a friend up in Maine right out of my apprenticeship and we were trying to fix a machine so we could fix another machine so we could fix what needed fixing.

This was at a small townie ski slope that was on its last legs. We started in and I couldn’t do a damn thing as I didn’t have s full compliment of machine tools and tooling.

Had to go back and relearn all my garage skills all over again.

Really humbled me.

I like that… Garage Skills. And nah I didn’t take your earlier comment as negative. Yeah it was 35* when I got up this morning, without a heated shop I spray a nice paint layer, let it air outside for about an hour then bring them into the basement to cure near the stove.
