Have a Atlas 42 benchtop drill press that ran pretty good and would like to keep it in service for a few more years. The pot metal quill spring return chrome plated housing tabs broke off.
Does anyone on the forum know if there are replacements available or cross referencing with other similar period models such as Craftsman or others of the same era.
If so, does anyone know the model number(s) and/or best place to find one?
Thank you in advance.

That should be pretty easy to replicate with aluminum. A replacement could be turned on a lathe. Where in Texas are you located?

Having one made out of aluminum is an excellent idea!
Not sure who would have interest in making a one off part like this or is it have a couple made and sell the extra's if there are other vintage drill presses that used this same spring holder/size.
