The next 6 days should test your drainage. I dug out some of it with a small excavator...Borrowed from a friend, spent 6 hours fixing the quick release on the bucket so that I could spend 2 hours digging. Then spent another 2 hours with a shovel close to the wall.

you've done all this while you're supposed to be resting ???????????? I do the same.

Yep. But I had another heart operation last Friday. It was the big one, took them some 6hrs to sort it all out, but sounds like it is back in rhythm.
This time I have been given strict instructions, not lifting, not work, nothing more than short walking distance..... rest. I think this will be nothing but torture for the next 5 weeks.

Well, noting I am posting indicates the second heart operation went well. Have had a month to recover and started to get back into working on the fitting out of the shed.
The main effort has been on the project room. This room will be set up as paint and dust room. This enable me to keep dust and over spray off the rest of the shed without setting up temporary plastic booths. Also, it is a significant area that will be always free for the current project.
Above it is a mezzanine loft that I plan to store the molds for my car. Hence why I have the stair case at the back. This little room will also be where the air compressor will go and an area for paints and volatile chemical such as my resins. I did this so all the extraction fans draw and exhaust in a similar area.

Feeling really good about how this is coming together. As it really is my dream shed.

Slowly getting there. Makes it a bit harder with one hand strapped. But I managed to get one entire wall sheeting up.

Also got the old house garage roller door up in the work shop section. this will enable me to bring things into the workshop with out going through the whole shed.

Those that know our property know that our rubbish bin is at the end of the driveway., about 1km from the house. So a routine activity for us is to take the rubbish up to the rubbish bin at the front gate. The dog likes to chase the buggy so she runs along side. So I get out to do the rubbish, and she normally gets a ride back in the foot well. Well she jumped in after I jumped out and sat on the throttle. The buggy took off. I managed to grab the steering wheel and give it a turn so it ran it into the gate post instead of heading out the front gate and across the road. Dog sitting in the front the whole time looking at me like “why are you not in the buggy?”
Another thing to repair.

Mate, I can only say WTF. I bet your wife is worried about you...every time you walk towards the shed.
It has been a **** year, but the last couple of months has been better for us. I have a 10 week old grand daughter, and my son finally got married..and we are almost at lock up.
Rest up and try and reduce the nurse time.

Thanks Terrick. With the new additions I am sure the injuries and misadventures are just going to get better.
More equipment arriving for the shed. This is the CO2 laser for profile cutting non-conductive materials, (have a CNC plasma on the way).
Really happy with the service and delivery.

In position in the the project room.

Whoah, that is a massive shift. Was wondering how you were fitting so much stuff over in the west. But looks good up around Canberra.

I would be putting a quick two posts and a cross rail in front of your Econocycle, the likely- hood of a vehicle running on that is high....have had to repair a few over the years.
We start in Gunning this morning heading back thru Gundaroo. Big day, because I have lots to do this arvo back at Royalla.
It is really nice to see all that green everywhere.

Sure is nice to see the green, who would have thought living in thick smoke and bare paddocks less than 10 months ago.
As for the septic. I am moving the driveway as it is one of the reasons these regularly go under water. Whil we have not had anyone come close to hitting them..... well........ based on my current level of accident prone.....
Flooding seen below.

Well all those bugs will be struggling. Did you strip the air blower before restarting it so the moisture does not get into the coil area inside? The good seal at the base should keep most of the water out, but it can still slowly get in thru the air filter.
Next time turn the power off at the breakers and lift the blower out till the water subsides.
With the power still turned off, open the control box and wipe away any moisture.
Then, If you run the irrigation pump SLOWLY ( just one sprinkler head) first before reinstalling the blower, that will keep a lot of the bacteria in there own section and it should start to work as intended.
Just call if you want advice....

Thanks good advice. I think not letting it flood is a better idea that drying it out each time.

Can't wait for the Plasma. Need those borders to open.

Great to have this in its final position. It is something that I have always wanted, and with a good year (last Year) I finally managed to get it.
Was great to have the support of the shop dog. She managed to let me know where I should be putting things by always being in the way.

And, in final position.

Mind you I am not sure what this switch is for.... or it might just be the "useless" switch. I used to take me for every to make useless scrap now its just a switch.. technology is amazing.

2000km round trip to pick this up from my brother. Love these old machines. Can any machinery boffins help me with;
what sort of Selson lathe it is?
How old it might be?
Where I can get parts.

It is in pretty good nick, but it does need a new electric motor, and the thread cutting gears are missing (replaced by a pulley and belt).

Shed is filling quick, but this is the last of the big tools

A bit of non-shed stuff.

Gotta love Australia.

Spiders and bugs are just ridiculous. The huntsman spider was massive and next to me office desk, these characters eat other spiders and have started to take over my shed.

Whereas, this prey-mantis held on for a trip into town on the ute (truck), at the same time was trying to destroy my wiper blade.

Finally getting some 30yrs of memorabilia from my time in the Navy on display. It has been great instead of having it stored in boxes, whilst also being a great time to reminisce about the all the adventures. It has sparked me calling a lot of old service mates I haven't spoken to in years.

What a weekend. The old saying "it doesn't rain it pours" is true in this case. Firstly started with the wheel falling off the tractor. After the front bearing collapsed; luckily the local bearing place had the bearings and seals so that wasn't too bad of a quick fix.

Then I went to do a service on our farm buggy. And that ended up becoming almost a full re-build. I know the brakes needed replacing, so I had them on order.... however, the wet clutch was done. The secondary clutch weights were worn out. The steering tie rods were shot, etc. Also, CFMOTO sure know how to charge for parts; $2k later........
Should have all the parts this week and start reassemble.

I’m keen to hear how you like the new compressor - i got a demo on a similar model at the local Sydney Tools a week or two ago, and was very impressed by the relative quietness.
Ralf99,
Very happy. The ability to switch off stages is great, so most of the time it is only one. But when spraying of blasting I crack up the flow.
ridiculously quiet, can hardly hear it running, I have it in a compressor room in the shed.
Reliability.... well I'll have to see but I am using it pretty consistently with the CNC plasma running most of the time.
Got it from sydney tools, cut me a good deal knocking a couple of hundred off.
Note you are from SW Vic. I was originally from Dunkeld.

Well I am very impressed with your workshop. Maintenance sometimes gets away ...but always comes around and reminds you somehow.
Too true. Getting there with the workshop. Have a massive clean out planned for this week. I seem to have collected a lot of other peoples things. So time for "come and collect".
I have the heater to install, and starting the next project.

Good to finally have the heater working. Needed at the moment. I mean it is nothing like our Canadian or American brethren have to deal with, but temperatures below zero make it a bit hard to hang on to the tools in the shed.

Been working some crazy hours in my business, but am just starting to get back around to finishing the shed off. Bit more memorabilia on the walls, and started running the 3 phase for the heavy machinery.
