AutoDeck Vs RaceDeck

Hello all – I need some advice, I have worked hard all my life and now the wife is going to let me do up my garage.

I have been sent samples and brochures on the AutoDeck tiles and RaceDeck tiles. I have also been right through this forum reading about the RaceDeck tiles but there is not much on AutoDeck.

The AutoDeck sample I have appears to be stronger than the RaceDeck, it has more lugs than the RaceDeck and these lugs are at least 70% bigger than RaceDeck, plus when you snap them together the AutoDeck tile seems to have a tighter fit.

Also I weighed the tiles and the AutoDeck tile is heaver indicating to me that it would contain more material. Underneath the AutoDeck tile it has more points of connection with the ground which should dissipate more load than the RaceDeck tile.

The AutoDeck tile has a better water channelling system built in allowing your concrete garage to breathe and dry out better.

AutoDeck is USA made and owned just like the RacDeck tile.

I have also noticed that the guy from RaceDeck when posed questions about AutoDeck and others says that RaceDeck is 100% USA made and uses only new material unlike the other companies.

So my question to all is:

Am I missing something here? Is AutoDeck not actually made in the USA? Is AutoDeck not made from new material? Does AutoDeck use fillers in their manufacturing? Disregarding the RaceDeck brochure is AutoDeck not actually as strong? Who makes AutoDeck?

I would appreciate any help as I got excited about the AutoDeck tile when I received the sample and found that while the brochure was indicating a lower rolling load the AutoDeck tile seemed stronger.

Cheers

Dam !

I thought I could sneak onto an American forum to ask some questions but an Aussie has found me.:) Yes I am based in Sydney and the AutoDeck tile sample I have is from garage blitz.

I have been researching these tiles for awhile now and was wondering why AutoDeck is not more popular when you Google these products. I was just a little concerned why RaceDeck seems to get all the attention but I can see that the AutoDeck tile might be a better product. I thought I might be missing something.

I actually have the two RaceDeck tiles and the two AutoDeck tiles sitting right now underneath the posts of a very very heavy Long Span shelving unit. The feet of the shelving unit would only be 2” square and I have to say the AutoDeck tile is showing no signs of flex at all – but the RaceDeck tile has a slight curve about it and is bowing just a little at the sides.

I do appreciate your advice and information but I have to ask why you are on this site and why is this your first post?

Please don’t take it the wrong way as I can see that the AutoDeck tile might be the better product

I have never seen so many less than "5 posts" comments...Hmmm?:shocking::eyecrazy::beer:

Jorgen,

I would respectfully recommend that you not comment on threads like this. Implying that other manufacturers are creating new member names just to bash your fine company and tout their own products is beneath you. Even if they are doing that, you have nothing to fear. You can simply be the bigger man by ignoring such attempts.

I would also respectfully submit to you that post count does not necessarily mean anything. Many of us do considerable research before commenting in open forum, so when we do start typing we actually have something to say. I, myself, have been lurking on this forum for over a year, and if I'm not mistaken, this is my 7th post.

I have been in contact with your company, as well as others, received samples, and am almost ready to make a decision. Your have a well earned reputation for service and products, and I very well might be placing an order with you soon.

I saw this once and it struck a chord with me - Arguing on the internet is like running the 100 yard dash in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.

Please don't feed the trolls.

YNOT2K -
I have been on this forum a long time and I never call out a specific competitor or their products to bash them. All I said is that it was interesting ( meaning unusual, not the norm,et,) that thread starter and those agreeing were new members. I am not the only one who noticed either (xxtreem11 & NXGTS ) - I said nothing about the claims and and inside industry used terms and negative comments made comparing RaceDeck.

I agree with you, most can read right through it.

spamvertising = The creation of what appears to be a false post on GJ for the purpose of advertising.

And I think I should trademark Spamvertising :)

I think that BOSS427 should post some pics of his Racedeck tile bowing under the pressure of his "very heavy unit" :bounce:

"Spamvertising" I like that. It seems to fit.

Hello All

I am sorry I started this post as I have obviously upset a lot of people.

It’s great to see so much passion for RaceDeck.

Jorgen (RaceDeck)
I am a genuine customer so please feel free to check with your Australian suppler in Wetherill Park. My name is Doug and I was originally going to install your tiles into a workshop (now just my garage) but was concerned about Static Electricity.

I started this post to find out what peoples experience was like with AutoDeck, before I spend my hard earned money.

It is though very disappointing that positive information about the AutoDeck product has been removed from this page.

I did not want to upset anyone or anyones product.

Like I said in the first post it is hard to find forums discussing AutoDeck

I am old and I have trouble explaining myself in writing without being opinionated, so once again sorry.

That’s all folks and good luck

It is weird the folks who jump on and accuse folks of being racedeck competitors just for asking questions. I was accused of it for asking racedeck1 (in response to one of his comments) exactly how racedeck's chaper products (not even racedeck itself) was superior. I didn't even question it's superiority - i just wanted to know HOW it was superior, since the claim was made.

I'm sure racedeck is a lovely product - as such, I'm sure it stands up well to discussions and comparisons without every newby asking about a competitor being accused of being the competition. Just my 2¢.

Wow, i started reading, and then go all confused. It's like someone deleted post. I am curious about the diff of the two products though. Boss should post a pic of both under the shelves.

The dancing girls saved this thread.

Well posts do "disappear" with no rhyme, warning, reason, explanation on this forum so nothing new there and I assume its not because of "pull" by Racedeck.

And sorry if I started a little war with my Spamvertising comments, but when a new poster with extremely low post count comes here and compares brandX to brandY and tears apart BrandY when many of us know the quality of BrandY while telling us that BrandX is better, I get very suspicious that it is spamvertising. I will refrain from comments in the future since it seems to upset the spamvertisers.

Now someone with a known post history here saying the same the thing, I would appreciate since no matter how good something is, there is always the possibility that something better (sorry Jorgen) is out there.

In this case I have never heard of AutoDeck so it seems suspicious, but my wife would tell you I have been wrong many times before and we all have to start at 0 post counts.

Also if you read my past posts, I think its pretty obvious that I very clearly know all the flaws and problems with Racedeck, its certainly not a perfect floor and I know how to damage it very quickly along with its cleaning issues on the diamond pattern but I would not have a garage without it, its that good and exactly what I want (note I said what "I" want). Like the advert from Griots Garage says "Smile when you walk in your garage", I still smile after 10 years of walking into my garage. When I moved, I even moved my tiles to my new garage when I had a brand new slab I could have done something else with and I did consider epoxy in my new garage because of past issues with Racedeck, nope, I moved my tiles.
