Automotive smoke under $150

Hey guys. Looking for a smoke machine under $150. I found the stinger 2 pro for $145. Is this my best option?

I'll be using it at home, but work on cars in the warmer months for people. It won't be getting used weekly but I have had a use for it in the past.

If you're doing EVAP work you will need a flow gauge to confirm there is no leakage after sealing the system. Lots of leaks I find with soapy water since the smoke isn't visible.

You're pressurizing (5psi max) with air/smoke and not seeing any leaks? What size leak code do you have?

I've always just built a PVC cap with a ball valve to pressurize to 10-15lbs. I have always used this on my turbo cars to pinpoint leaks which can be prone with intercooler piping

Sorry, for $150 on sale you should be patient and look for the STD 202 - mine was $138. The STD 206 has the flow meter as well as the pressure gauge and will be more.

For some reason they don't really work. Its more like a vapor than a smoke.

What oil do you use? It says USP on the website. Isn't that just any medical grade oil?

Bought the same one. It does its job and creates a lot of smoke. Running mineral oil in mine. This puts out way more smoke than a cheap cigar from 7-Eleven. Glad I bought.

Thinking of rigging it up to an m12 battery because all of my cars seem to have the battery in the trunks and I am too lazy to run the cord back there plus deal with taking everything out of the trunk.

Anyone know the chances of blowing one self up with one of these? Notice there is a recommendation on some of these smoke testers to run an inert gas through them like carbon dioxide rather than running compressed air.

Well... I haven't even opened the box lol. The mineral oil will be here tomorrow (stores were expensive) so I'll probably get to it Wednesday.

The chance is there since you are oxygenating the fuel vapors in the tank. I would stick with nitrogen to be safe.

Most of my cars also have the battery in the trunk. I use a clip lead to the alternator battery positive to power things up front.

I made an adapter to plug in to cigar lighter or clip onto battery
