Average joe's garage(but my own)

My new semi-detached is almost done.
I'm getting my keys in about 2 weeks, so I'll be able to start my single garage build-up really soon. I'll keep you guys posted on what gets done.

Garage size is : 10X20.
Original ceiling height was supposed to be 8' but I talked the contractor into making it 10' (ok, ok, my wallet talked the contractor into making it 10' high).

In order to maximize the space as much as possible, the rear wall will be loaded as you can see in the image.

btw, there might be some odd visual effects on the back wall. That's normal. I was originaly standing in the middle of the garage door in that picutre. I had to photoshop my-self out of there.

Excellent, the 10' ceilings will be very nice! Are you going to get high-lift tracks on the door?

Yes.
If everything goes according to original plans, there will be a 2 post hoist in there. It will be a tight fit, but it will fit. In order to use every single cubic feet of space available, door tracks will need to be moved up and follow the ceiling line. I asked about it in another thread, and it appears there are wall mounted door openers. A wall mounted motor will save me big headachs when comes time to lift a car up in the air.

The ceiling will be fitted with 2 dual 8' fluorescent fixtures. 1 on each side of the garage.

I'm a techy so, I ran network wires all over the house including the garage :bounce: There will be a computer monitor mounted between the studs inside the rear wall where the workbench is and the monitor will be covered with a plexiglass so it doesn't get damaged by flying tools (not that it ever happens  ). I won't need to run inside the house to get the web info I need anymore. That alone will be a great time saver.

Since the garage is fairly small, I will have the compressor located in a well ventilated box behind the house.

Yep, I run the Liftmaster 3800 opener, just mounts on the tension rod. Bought mine off of e-bay and installed it myself...I also am planning on a lift and wanted the maximum headroom available.
