lol....after looking at the picture from the street in post #21....and looking at the length of that beautiful boat while sitting on the lake....I am convinced that you, sir,... are a "MASTER boat trailer backer upper".

Well it takes a while lot of effort, Its a game of inches. I should take pictures of the tire marks I put on the driveway along side of the little garage. Where the big garage is sitting was part of the battle I had with the city. They made me stay off the property line by 2 feet They wouldn't tell me why. Then when I dug the 5 foot hole for the footing I found out why. The main electrical line for the whole nieborhood is there, Not that I uncovered it or anything:dunno:

Ok so give your opinion please. I was going to put a bar/ desk, L shaped along the wall from the fridge to the man door then about 6' out toward the over head door. Ipurchased some bottom cabinets from Home depot and was going to frame with square tube a two tier desk and bar kind of like what you see as an island in modern kitchens. I have a ganite guy who owes me big so I was going to top it with granite. The pre made cabinets turned out to be way to big and one was broken right out of the box so I took them back. After setting them in place. I started thinking the bar would take up to much floor space. So here is the question should I go ahead and have some custom smaller cabinets built and do the L shape or give up on the bar idea and keep the fab/ floor space? this is the area right in front of the Jeep

B-Rad: Personal opinion only....I would forgo the tradional bar, takes up too much space. Maybe a cantilevered desk/bar top in place of cabinets so you could multipurpose the space more easily?

I agree that a traditional bar would take up precious space in your awesome garage. I know from experience that beer can be drank just about anywhere, not just at the bar! I really like the "dirty room". That is a good idea to contain the messy jobs. If we had better places to wheel around Wisconsin I would still have my past Jeeps. My favorite Jeep was my 1986 CJ-7 Laredo with 33's on it, good streetable toy.

Thats funny I have tryed to buy a 1986 CJ-7 Laradeo when I bought this on in 1986. The white one with tan letters and interior. The guy back out on the deal. about 2 months ago I found a black 86 Laredo, clean and reasonably priced. That guy vanished.
I should have my desk project going next week. That ***** no good wheeling places. At least you have the best NFL team, GO PACK WIN!!!!!

My Laredo was the brown mettalic(chocalate) with the tan letters and tan interior. Just a 3" rancho lift with 33" BFG's. Yeah the Packers are keeping everyone happy up in our neck of the woods.

Nice setup, I like to overhead storage. However, this space is so perfect to be a bar with kegerator, etc.

The non-bar well I have installed the drawers that my cusin built for me and got the granite top. When I got the top home as I was undoing the tie downs in the back of my truck a gust of wind blew the slab over off of the "A" frame on to te wheel well and broke it :(

I calmed down a couple of days after braking the granite desk top and took some pics. I think This will work out fine. I don't think it will interfear with any fab work and it'll be a good place for my computer. my buddies will just have to hold thier beers or set it on the work bench in the back.

Good thing the counter top wasn't soap stone or something a bit lighter when it fell over and broke. I can imagine a lighter stone being chucked across the driveway in anger when it happened. What does the repaired seam look like on the top side? We have all granite in the house, so I've had to read a bit on small edge chip repair and the like. I've seen top edges and cracks repaired by slightly beveling the edges just like a weld prep on steel, then using a clear epoxy mixed with a little granite dust ground off of the underside to color match it. Seemed like pretty good results when buffed back out and polished.

I haven, t turned it backover yet. I am going to glue a 3/4" piece of MDF to the back of it tonight. I'm sure the crack on top is going to show through. I was told to get some epoxy to fill it, so I guess we'll see how it turns out :headscrat. Thank God that didn't happen when I did the kitchen a few years ago...

repair almost complete. I had an issue with the super glue :wtf: The granite guy said use alot, so I did. I had the granite upside down on top of a piece of 1"mdf. I had newspaper under the crack on top of the mdf. The super glue ran through the crack on to the news paper into the mdf and on to the work bench. The next night I whent out to check my work the mdf was stuck to the bench the granite and news paper was stuck to the mdf. well a couple days later after cursing and swearing.I got them seperated

As a Jeep guy, I *KNOW* you have heard the old line "Don't worry, it'll buff out..."

In this case it appears to have been true.

It looks OK considering. I didn't have the guts to ask him for another one I'm sure he would have charged me full bore for the second one:bounce:
A couple more Jeep sayings for ya. "if its bent or rusted, cut it off" and this one works for early Cruiser, early Bronco as well as early CJ's "Its not a classic cut it you *****"

B-RAD77,

Very nice - I really like the jeep and boat. It looks like you really like quality stuff (as we can all tell from the jeep, boat, snap on box, and the miller welder.) Congrats on getting the comp running out in the garage. We look forward to more pics - I would really like to see some of that Jeep in action.

Thanks DRhodes well don't know about quality stuff the Jeep is just a 77 CJ-7 its my high school ride. I've owned it since 1986 it is in a constant state of modification. the boat is a '96 and I'm pretty good at beating up my Snap on dealer. Are you from Utah? are you a Snap on dealer?
