Hello everyone,
Just got some news that I'm going to be an uncle to a blue collar baby boy!!
Yep, I just got some news that my sister and the bro in law are having their first kid and its a boy! WOOOHOOOO. The bro-in-law is a structural ironworker and is an all around craftsman. We share a lot of interest and one is working metal (I do some blacksmithing in my free time) and Im putting together a care package for the little fell and already picked up a sweet vintage leather toddler tool belt and one of those mini Klein canvas buckets and I would like to make a novelty welding shield for him so when he is born we can take some really cool family pictures (obviously safely) and I want your guys opinion on what the best material would be to make him a shield that is not only realistic looking but functional (safety Sallys please refrain, he won't be in any harm) I was thinking about molding kydex or wet forming leather, what do you guys think?
thanks in advance.
