Barbed fittings and poly pipe leak help

Glad you got it sorted out.Received the new fitting today. It will not go in without a fight. It will need to be heated to insert it. Funny thing is the new fitting looks just like the picture from Home Depot. I believe it is just like your say, someone returned the wrong fitting and it was but back into the wrong stock.

I did some work on my shallow well at the shop last year. The black plastic pipe from the well pushes, with much difficulty, onto a steel barbed fitting /adapter that has a male pipe thread on the other end.. in my case I used a reducer fitting / fittings to readapt to pex. As far as I know, or could find, pex fittings don’t directly fit the black well pipe because the pex I’d is different.

PEX is copper tube size and poly is available in iron pipe size or copper tube size.I did some work on my shallow well at the shop last year. Mine was obviously iron pipe size. Not a new installation, just a repair and transition to pex.PEX is copper tube size and poly is available in iron pipe size or copper tube size.
