Great thread, stumbled across it searching "18x20 garage" on google. Inspiration for my matching small garage!
Has there been any progress in the secondary shop?
Youve done a great job with your garage! I remember reading your thread years ago, and had it bookmarked. Nice to see you pop in again for an update! Proof that working garages can be beautiful!
When I first saw the size of the garage, I thought that it's pretty small and you couldn't do much apart from fit two cars in it.
You've certainly proved me wrong!!
Nice use of all the space
I've had E34's for a while now, solid good car hey!
Man, great space! Love all the function and thought that has gone into it.
We share a similar square footage and would love to squeeze all that equipment in mine while still getting both cars in every night.
Dubber, my plan is to pull up most of the tiles to see what's underneath. It has been 5 years and I bet it will be.. interesting. I'll be a bachelor for 2 weeks in June so there will be a huge spike in productivity!
It's also looking like the weather might be warming up this week, finally! Today was warm enough (in my books) to wash the cars.
I'll start with a fairly minor project I completed a few weeks ago. The hose bib in all the houses around here are located at the back of the garage so that they are less likely to freeze in the winter. I wanted the hose bib closer to the front of the garage, so that I didn't have to run a 20' hose through the garage. I made sure to angle the pipe downward and put a drain valve at the end so that I could drain it in the winter.
Unfortunately photobucket isn't permitting 3rd party hosting anymore. I'll have to find the time to go back and restore the links using a different picture site.
The kids will be forced to eat KD for a few months but with winter knocking on the door we need to sort it out sooner rather than later.
The price including installation and tax is just under $2k which actually isn't as bad as I was expecting. I know I could get a non-insulated for probably half that but there is no logic in that![]()
