I have a pair of the reef flip flops with the bottle opener. The end is turned up so you don't actuall use what is on the floor. Not exactly the cleanest, but it only touches the cap anyway. It does not drag on the bottle. It's no less clean that anything you keep in your tool box or or hang on your wall considering you don't know who or what has touched your bottle or any bottle thats been opened with the opener. I don't wash mine regular unless it looks nasty. That said I really don't use them much, but if you get drunk enough to loose your flip-flops then you really don't kneed another beer!

I have a red Marlbo one that I got years ago that sits in the my beer fridge, The pink bar tenders one that my GF had, or the KTM tool that came with the KTM. In a pinch the latch on the door of the any car works well.

Mine is mounted on the front of my workbench, next to the "New" Old 1970's Ford Philco Mini Fridge. And under that is a Half Cut Corona Bucket to catch all the caps.

Yep, I do. Hazet is the brand that got me obsessed with tools again. That was due to the Porsche connection.

I use my wedding band. Except for Bi-Lo's Pig Swig I've not had an issue opening a beer bottle and it is pretty easy to find.

I have the ubiquitous coke opener on the wall in the kitchen (must remember to unscrew it and take it with us when we move) never got round to putting a cap catcher underneath it. I'll have to get another one for the new garage and something entertaining to catch the caps in. I also have a very effective handheld one a friend pinched from the Hotel Intercontinental in Geneva (it has it engraved on the handle) In the car and truck I have an assortment of freeby giveaway jobs.

My pocketknife when I'm in France is a Laguiole folding knife like this with of course a built in corkscrew.

Bi-Lo...haven't heard that name in years, I've been out of the south too long

(born and raised in Concord, NC).

Back on topic, I use the Lowe's paint can opener, but next time I order a set of Wera screwdrivers I'm planning on picking up the Wera bottle opener as well. This thread did remind me of the old Coca-Cola bottle opener that was on the back porch of my grandma's house when I was growing up. I inherited that house a few years back and it's been uninhabited for several years, wonder if it's still there...

I have a Solid Brass McMenamins wall mount in the kitchen. In the Shop I use any Tool that is closest to me. Or a Lighter. I have quite a few pairs of Reef's but I usually have a Lighter handy.

The one I use most is my Knife though...It is always with me and always easy to access.

Great thread.

Spaten fan. Although we used to live a block away (walk distance) to a little closed NC brewery "weeping radish" German Restaurant that now resides in VA. Had ties with the brew master then. If any German beer fans know the place check out the Black Radish or the seasonal "Kolsch" beer. Ahh good times.

Edit: oh yeah the openers....sidetracked with beer....have 2 older of the craftsman openers pictured earlier in my Dad's toolbox. We also keep a German wine bottle opener. You know the one with the annoying two prongs to get the cork haha.
