In the rare occasion that there is a beer without a twist off cap I just have to say so and dozens of people will come racing out of nowhere and get into a fistfight over who gets to show their trick to opening a beer with a lighter.

It's just like loading my Jeep onto the trailer, there can be nobody within sight and as soon as I put the ramps out a dozen experts will appear and joyously get dirty attaching the axle straps.

Prior to getting this I would either use pliers or just any other method that was successful in opening a non twist off cap.

Thanks for sharing. Like you, I couldn't find any in stock in the local Kmart stores but Sears typically price matches Kmart and since it's the exact same part / part number, I stopped by the local Sears. They matched the price plus I got an additional 10% off because today from 6:00 - 9:00 PM it's Friends & Family discount. My price before tax = $1.67 each. Bought a few extra for gifts.

i use a tec screw screwed up into the under side of a shelf until the head is about 1/4" from bottoming. simply place bottle up to screw and tilt bottle. the edge of the screw pops the top.
