Well I have a smaller collection than some folks here, but I finally think I found one most don't have (yet?)

Just came in the mail, don't think I even asked them for it.

Apparently this Bosch opener was a real promotional offering from Bosch (i.e. it's not a homemade item):

http://www.toolstop.co.uk/bosch-anti-vibration-grinder-handle-with-bottle-opener-p6059

It's very difficult to find more information about it. It seems to only be mentioned twice on the web, once in Norwegian:
http://byggebolig.no/handverktoy-hullsag-bits-bor/bosch-flaskeapner

...and once in Russian:
http://www.mastergrad.com/forums/t67564-novogodniy-konkurs-ot-bosch/?page=5&order=desc

The Russian forum post has pictures of the box it came in. Can anyone confirm that the part number ( 1619BE5400 ) is a real Bosch number?

I think of it in reverse, so far the two items which I can't use to open a beer are a potato chip and my ocular socket. With everything else, there seems to be a way.

Hey Colin that's a pretty awesome collection. What's the black/yellow one to the left of the green wera?

Thanks. That's a Narex, part no. 8893 02. (I think they also make a corkscrew, but as you can probably tell from the photo, I'm really only interested in collecting the openers with screwdriver-type handles.)

I picked up this one not because its NASCAR related but just because it was craftsman, after further review it seems this NASCAR version is rare-er than the normal craftsman version, fwiw.

I am known among my crew of friends for my opening of a beer bottle with my pocket knife. It isn't anything special. Basically the same way you open one with a lighter. I try teaching them but they all just hand the bottles to me. I also collect bottle caps, so it is easier for me because I can just pocket them.

Re: Let's see your bottle openers

Got a case of the flu, what better reason to peruse the old posts on topics of interest? I ran-across this thread, and so-far, this is my fave post.

One of my MI college classmates is retired from the GM Tech Center in Warren MI. I sent him this to see if he was aware of this. A very cool piece, and probably a lot of fun to use. Happy suds imbibing!

I have the Holy Grail.....

The cast iron Connecting Rod Bottle Opener from GM Research.

My father retired from GM Research Labs in Warren MI. They gave these away at their 1976 Open House.

I grew up with that Conn Rod opener always in my Mothers kitchen drawer.

For my career, I spent 20+ years designing engines for Ford. Engines and cars are my passion. I always wanted that opener, but it was lost for years.

After my father passed away, I found this cleaning his tool box. I swear it glowed in my hands when I picked it up.

I think of my Dad almost every time I open a beer.

I will always keep it and use it regularly.... :)

I highly doubt I ever see another like it....

Moved some heavy parts for a friend, turned-up a Ballantine's Ale and a Schaefer's Beer pair of traditional churchkeys in the boxes I moved. I'll throw them into one of my toolboxes.

There used to be a couple of Miami FL beer breweries still producing when I moved here in the early 1970's. One was Regal, and the other was ORBIT. The ORBIT Brewery had a really-cool neon sign by one of the expressways. It was a real-traditional Chesley Bonestell-looking rocket, and the word ORBIT was in stacked letters down the side. Back then a 6-pack of Michelob was $1.65 and the Regal and ORBIT regularly sold for 99 cents. I'd like to find an ORBIT churchkey.

Does anyone know where to get this Ace Hardware bottle opener? Apparently you can't order it online, and none of my local Ace stores have it. They can only order it by the 30-count case, and they're not willing to do that...
