I almost bout a similar press. The handle and gear teeth were beat all to hell. It looked like someone was hammering on the handle literally to use it.Picked up a Famco 3R arbor press, wasn't in terrible shape but it needed some lovin. Stripped it down, repainted, cleaned & trued the ram & teeth, not sure why they get hammered on, straightened the handle & made up a new anvil. Now it looks good & functions as it should.
I got two rough looking arbor presses for less than $100. I sold the bigger one for $100 and freshened the smaller MANLEY press.
Both presses came with the "ship's wheel". I do not use the wheels.
I wish I had your skills, ladies and gentlemen. Some fantastic restorations!!! Your are the doctors of the old machinery!
ISB Cornbinder, I think you might get extra tool money for this wheel (or exchange it for another tool). If I remember correctly, one of the members was restoring an arbor press on this site and the wheel was broken. Sorry, do not remember the size or the brand. I think it was within a year

ISB Cornbinder, post over on the arbor press thread!

BYW. Steaks refers to beef meat. The metal forming tool is spelled stake.

Not a big deal I turned this piece of stainless steel into a door sill plate for my car.
I hate the mess buffing makes in my shop so I went out and got this tent out of my work vehicle, problem solved.

Yeah we all know that the CIA, NSA, FBI, and other three letter agencies are in those tents wire tapping and spying on us.That looks like a T.A. Pelsue ground tent. You must work in the telco industry. I have an advertising button with their tent slogan on it. These tents can be erected very quickly.

Almost complete redoing my new 1970 powermatic 30 combo sander. Stripped all the parts to bare metal, straightened & sanded the cabinet & gave it the best rattle can job I could, lol. Had to build up the platen & flatten it, a little work on the rollers, squared it up & it is tracking real nice. The big plus is it being 3 phase & can really dial in the speed to what your sanding with the vfd. The on board transformer still works & I'm thinking of refitting the on board dust collector as the dust collection works great. Still needs the stripe & some badging, I'm not a big fan of the color but now it matches my other pm's.
Yes, they are nice, about 10 seconds form laying on the ground and fully deployed.
Put a 1500 amp heater in it when it's 20 degrees outside and you're in shirt sleeves before you know it.

Nice job on that sander!
Renegade, Beautiful job on the sander!
that's a big machine in what looks to be a compact shop. What do you use it for?
You mean 1500 WATT right?
I have a 1975 Benchstar 14” drill press and I’m also looking for any documentation, manuals or help to restore it.I'm actually seeking some history on this round column drill mill.
