Behold, the worst ratchet I've ever used (Rant)

There I was, at my local Sears store and stumbled upon a Craftsman Mach Series 3/8in Ratchet on sale for 19.95$ instead of 79.95$, thought it looked a bit like my Wera Zyklop and wondered if it was a copy, which I would've probably been happy with. So without much more though I threw it in my cart and kept shopping. 3 hours later i'm home, finally get to sit down and open this sucker up.

And that's when I realize it features this telescopic handle with spl.....


Oh wait, screw this, I'm not going to waste any more time on this ******, useless, gimmicky "tool". I took one for the team and just destroyed it with my 150-ton press, I never would've have been able to live with myself if I had returned it for a refund, knowing that some other guy would've been stuck with this turd.


Don't ever spend money on such a *************.

My son got me one for christmas I love the thing for certain applications. Of course I like gimmicky but did not think this was that. What did you not like about it.

Yep see that but I use mine for small stuff around the house and in the other shop on small engine stuff. Guess I am just a little stupid just have to use it for certain applications.

Was the 150 tons press able to crush the ratchet? I dont see why it is useless. If you dont like the screw feature, you still can use it like a regular rotor ratchet. I think you are just looking for excuse to crush stuff with the 150 tons press.

No actually my son saw it knows I like tools so he got it fr me as a surprise for christmas. So I have done the dad thing and used so he could see. And you are correct yo dont have to extend it and it is quite good as a roto ratchet. Gimmicky or not It has its applications. Also son has a college education but has no interest in tools or working on cars never has. I tried just did not stick.

The ergonomic grip on the new Craftsman stuff is pretty good. It's bulky though.

There are good tools , there are bad tools, and this one is just one of the bad tools don't care where they are made. or who made it.... A bad tool is a bad tool. Some ppl just can't handle the tooth.

I messed around with it in the store. I didn't think it was a bad tool, just overpriced. At 20 bucks, I'd get one. It seems to me it would have it s uses.

Alright maybe not a bad tool just not a tool I will be bragging to own... It is not like one of the tool (39100 16 PC. PASS-THRU UNI-FIT SOCKET SET) set that broke after one use. and won't send me the call tag to ship it back to them for the exchange and won't send me the repair kit..... now that is a bad tool made by a ****** company.

Can't say how well it might work in real use but I've played with it in the store display.... Way too bulky...way too much plastic and just really silly looking. I'd probably hear about it from the guys at work if I broke it out for a job... I know I'd mention it (not in a good way) if I saw someone start to turn a bolt with it
