I recently bought a Craftsman 397.19591 1/2 HP bench grinder. I'm in need of some help since I'm sort of stuck scratching my head at this point. The grinder is in working order, but the wheels spin in the wrong direction (away from you). I have searched here and on google with no luck. Hopefully someone on here is able to help me figure out what I've obviously been missing.

What I have done so far to the grinder to eliminate the problem:
- Bought new starting capacitor
- Changed the -\+ on the power cord
- Re-crimped/soldered flag terminals on all ends

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am having a hard time matching the terminals that you have yellow and red on to the drawing. Is yellow on terminal 3 and red on terminal 2? I cannot tell enough from the drawing but reversing one of the motor run windings will reverse direction. Match up every wire on the drawing with your machine and make sure two colors are not swapped. I asume you are running on 115 volts. Use the correct drawing.

See the wiring diagram I added to the post above.

I think that may clear things up.

It is wired for 115VAC.

I was looking at that diagram but could not see where a couple of wires actually went on your grinder and was just suggesting that you double check against the drawing.
