This past weekend my lift finally arrived. I bought a Bendpak HD-9XW.
My biggest challenge was and still is the shipping. The lift was not available to be picked up until 1 week after the requested and projected delivery date. Day after day Yellow Freight indicated it was either on its way or would be available to be picked up. When it was finally delivered to the local shipping terminal it took them days to unload the trailer. Very very frustrating.
When I finally got the lift my RJ45 air jack was not included. Bendpak is submitting a claim through Yellow Freight and shipping me another one. So far Bendpak has been very helpful in trying to get the issue resolved. It was shipped and now I am waiting for it to arrive. I hope it goes smoother this time.
I got the lift on Friday morning. I spent all day Friday and all day Saturday setting it up. I worked alone except for one hour of help from my neighbor which was indispensable. My engine lift was a huge help as well.
I actually had a good time putting it together. A big thanks to Ovilla for his helpful post with tips about his setup. Another big thanks to Junkman who took a call from me during the install and helped clarify some things for me.
The lift went together the way it should. The runways were somewhat bent from shipping (thanks again Yellow Freight) but I was able to pound them out. The directions were misleading at times but it all worked out.
It was a huge thrill to lift my truck the first time. I am still amazed at how big the lift is. This is one of those things i have wanted since I was 16 years old. Fulfilling a life long dream is pretty cool.
Here are some pictures.
Cheers!

Just yesterday I had to load a engine lift into my pickup to go get an engine. Thing was a lot heavier than I remember it being so loaded it onto the lift, backed the truck under it & rolled it into the bed which was a lot easier than having to lift it by hand & saved the back. It's great to be able to work at any height that is comfortable rather than on ramps & jackstands.
