Lift arrived the other day. Installed it yesterday with a buddy. Went fairly smooth.
Got it running,,,tried both my car and his Corvette on it,,,,worked great,,,,

Have a few questions and some things I think i still need to "adjust"

1) Do you guys run some type of "vapor filter" for the lift,, ( i dont have the RF45 jack ),,, but for the safety lock portion of the lift,,, do I need to plumb something in ? If so, is this a generic thing i can get at lowes ? Homedepot ?

2) What is the "max" air pressure to run to the safety locks ? my compressor is up to 125 psi,,, that will "fire" the locks ok,,,but didnt know what the minimum i need so i dont over do it.

Things that i still need to do....are
- lube the sheaves with the zerc fitting
- adjust the cables ( there pretty close ),,, but dont think the lift if "synchronized" perfectly
- pull and reinstall the cross tube bolts,,to be sure nothing is hung up,,,i cant see any issues here,,,but read someone's post on how they chewed up a cable when the cable routed "over" the cross tube bolt
- spray/ lube the entire lift, pulleys, cables, etc
-

I bought the casters,,,very glad i did,,,,, I ended up "building" the lift in the middle of the garage and then we moved it into place...casters are very heavy duty.

I used dolleys to move the ramps around,,,and with my cherry picker,,,it wasnt too bad

I am going to install some mirrors on the wall in front of the lift,,,,this way i can see the ramps,,,and the side of the garage as i pull the car in,,,,it's a "tight" fit on the passenger side of the car,,,, figured some mirrors mounted up on the walls in front of the car,,,will let me see if i am going to run into something,,,,and make sure i get the tires where i want them on the ramps...

How hard is it to "synchronize" the lift ? How do i know where to start,,,,you can hear 4 distinct clicks as it goes up,,,they are all very close,,,one right after the other,,,but i would like them to be closer,,,, Synchronizing just involves the cables,,not the ladders ,,, correct ?

Thanks for the help,,,,comments......

Down load a manual from bendpak it will help a lot. But the basics are.
The cables have to be adjusted first to level the ramps and then you adjust the ladders to get the clicks close to the same time as you can.

I have the manual and it's pretty scant on specific directions on how to synchronize the lift.
I think i am close,,,but want to do it in the correct order...

Going to look over the instructions again,,,see if there is something i missed....

If it's level then just tighten the ladder that clicks first and so on. Or loosen the last click to drop the ladder a hair so it clicks earlier. Its pretty simple but they will never be perfect I found that it may be perfect on 3-4 clicks but off on some others. Just means the ladder holes are a tiny bit different cut open nothing you can do.

I need to keep at least 1/2" spacing at the bottom of the ladders ,, correct ?

I can "adjust" the ladders to click all at the same time,,,I assume the lift has to be all the way on the ground to adjust the ladders,,,then run it up and see where im at ?

How do i know the cables are adjusted enough ?,,, is it "slack" that i am looking for ?

The directions for adjustment,,,and fine tuning are poor,,,,

thanks,,,,

ladders can be done anytime...as long as the locks aren't on them at the time.. the cables, I just started with the 1" of thread at top.. then tightened them to level the ramps... then did the ladders to lock the same after the ramps were level.

ods,,,,

sorry for sounding dumb,,,but the cable adjustment is just for leveling the ramps ? and the ladders are for synchronizing the lift ?

thanks again,

• Lift arrived the other day. Installed it yesterday with a buddy. NICE BUDDY.

• Tried both my car and his Corvette. …AND HIS CORVETTE. WHY TAKE CHANCES. LOL:beer:

• Do you guys run some type of "vapor filter" for the lift. MOST ANY MOISTURE WILL GET VAPORIZED THROUGH THE PNEUMATIC CYLINDERS WHEN ACTIVATED. THE PNEUMATIC CYLINDERS ARE STAINLESS, ALUMINUM AND PLASTIC SO FAIRLY CORROSION PROOF. BUT TO ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION, SOMETHING LIKE THIS SHOULD DO THE TRICK.

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs...D25X-_-100671461&locStoreNum=1002&marketID=48

• What is the "max" air pressure to run to the safety locks ? 30 PSI–5 CFM IS ALL THAT IS REALLY REQUIRED. I WOULD SUGGEST KEEPING THE PRESSURE AS LOW AS POSSIBLE TO AVOID OVERWORKING PARTS.

• How hard is it to "synchronize" the lift ? Get it as close as you can and do your best to keep the runways level when suspended from the cables. THE CABLES WILL STRETCH DIFFERENTLY DUE TO THEIR VARYING LENGTHS SO DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLES YOU WILL BE RAISING, THE CLICKING WILL BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT. THE REASON TO GET THE LOCKS CLICKING THE SAME OR AS CLOSE TO THE SAME IS TO MAKE IT EASIER WHEN PARKING ON THE LOCKS – YOU BASICALLY KNOW YOU ARE CLOSE TO THE SAME AREA AT EACH COLUMN LOCATION SO THAT YOU WILL HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF PARKING ON THE SAME LOCK POSITION. IF THE LOCKS ARE CLICKING HAPHAZARDLY, YOU MAY FIND YOURSELF PARKING THE FRONT CORNERS ON THE EIGHTH LOCK POSITION AND THE REARS ON THE SEVENTH.

Thanks Jeff,,,,,appreciate the link to the filter.........and the info on the air pressure.

I am going to put the lift on the cables,,stretch them out,,,,,adjust as needed ,,,,,and make sure it is level.....

......then i'll adjust the ladders to get them close

thanks,,,

Congrats on the lift and getting it installed!

Care to share where you purchased the lift and for how much?

Every time I read stories about happy lift owners, I move one step closer to buying my own.
