Looking at this flush mount midrise scissor lift... perfect for my application. However, the control hyd hoses are only 30" from the lift. Kinda in the middle of the garage and no way to have it up against a wall, out of the way. Benpak said I should not have 6 or 7 foot hoses made as there might nor be enough fluid capacity in the reservoir.
Has anyone ever lengthened the hoses/power supply to get the control panel out of the way?

The reservoir capacity should be matched to the hydraulic cylinder size. Hose length, ie volume is irrelevant since the hoses aren’t changing in volume like the cylinders are when the lift is operated through a cycle.

That seems to make sense. When I think about it, the oil is displaced from the cylinder to the reservoir, it would move the same volume whether the hoses are 10 feet long or 3 feet long. Even if it does matter, we are talking maybe a cup of oil, I think probably few fl .oz. I have dealt with Bendpak, it's not the first time they give answers that doesn't make sense.

The talking head @ Bend Pac is wrong. While it is true there is more oil in the system, a full lift event will use the same amount of oil regardless of the hose length.. The extra oil only duty is to transfer the pressure over a greater distance. The hydraulic pump reservoir will hold the same amount of oil. Think of the extra oil as an extension. Something like the extension between a ratchet and a socket. Same work load, just farther away.

I bought a replacement hose and installed a quick disconnect fitting. Next i removed the shirt piece of hose joining the two cylinders, and replaced it with another hose tat has a T in the middle where a matching quick disconnect was attached. There's not enough clearance to use a quick disconnect on the side as the lift tries to snap off the extra over all length as it raises.
Today i finally bit the built and cut out a 45 x 80 inch area to flush mount the lift. It has to cyre for 3 weeks before i can use it but im really looking forward to it

I finally finished flush mounting my mid height scissor lift last night after the 1/4" plate was delivered. Here's a few pictures. I know the 1/4" plate was overkill as the concrete is 4000psi and it's also 3/4" rebar reinforced. But since the footprint of the rollers is so small that rolling over .250" hot rolled steel plate put my mind ar ease.
