Has anyone every seen or used a RJ7 on the HD9 4 posts? I know the sites says the RJ4500 are made for the HD9's, but I might have access to an RJ7 for cheaper than a 4500 to use on my HD9 lift.

Have you tried calling Bendpak? It is their lift and rolling jacks so they might have a little inside knowledge.

They will NOT TELL YOU IT'S OKAY to use it on an HD9 lift. I already contacted them last year about using a RJ4500 on my HD12. Said it's not built for that lift and would not sell me one because of this. But if you go to their site you can pull up the jacks and look at the details of it to see if in fact it will fit on the rails or not.

It's the working load of the jacks that correspond to the size lift it is intended for.
So they will only sell a RJ4500 for a HD9 lift....

I assumed that would be their response from a liability standpoint.

What jack did you end up buying?

66Caprice probably gave you the best advise. It is likely that no manufacturer wants the liability of signing off on using a different rolling jack than what your lift was designed to work with. Go look at the drawings to see if it will fit. The most important dimensions are obviously the width of the rails or runways on your lift that the jack will ride on but every rolling jack I've ever seen is adjustable in that regard. But overall height can come in to play too, as can the height that the wheels or sliders are mounted at. So can the amount of jack that may hang down under the lift. That can cause the jack to hit the floor first and raise up as the runways touch down.

If you determine it does fit, you can go for it but the liability of doing so will rest solely on you. I say this as a guy who has a Challenger 3500# rolling jack next to the original Advantage 4500# rolling jack on my 9000# Advantage lift. The Challenger RJ fit on mine with very minor mods.

My motivation was the same as yours: I'm frugal and the Challenger RJ was a dang bargain after the price of adding another Advantage rolling jack had doubled in a little over 2 years. So far I'm very pleased with the smaller Challenger rolling jack. I don't need to lift any vehicles over its 3500# capacity and its shorter arms still easily reach any lifting points on our vehicles. I don't even mind the manual pump vs. the air pedal on my Advantage jack.

I have not broke down and bought a jack yet. But I will probably pick up a rj4500 or similar. I need one that does not stick up too far above the rails. My truck and my Caprice are lowered and won't clear a jack that stands too proud of the ramps. And yes it's all about liability with the smaller jack size on a heavier lift.

I have the rbj4500 on an hd9. Looking at the specs for the hd14 and rbj7000, I think it would sit too high. Honestly the rbj4500 is just barely low enough for my cars (450sl and older porsche).

I have their low profile jack, will have to check the part number. Jeff at Bendpack hooked me up when they were designing it. Clears my newer Camaro no problem and old cars with big oil pan. I have a HD9 4 post.
