About to install my lift and was planning on setting it up in the wide configuration. It will be used for a ford f250 ext. Cab, ford mustang, ford escape and other cars. Any opinions on wide vs. Narrow configuration?

Take a look at this thread:

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=340889

It seems the wide configuration used on an extended cab truck causes the lift arms to not reach the lift points.

I am the one that started that thread. It should be pointed out that the vehicle that I have is a 2000 F150 SuperCab (extended cab not 4-door) with an 8-foot bed.

The arms that I got with my BedPak XPR-10A-168's in October of 2014 will not reach the manufacturer's lift points on my truck with my lift in the wide configuration.

I don't know if BendPak has changed their lifts since I purchased mine 2 years ago.

It would be prudent to talk BendPak about this.

Best regards,

Scott

I have a new XPR-10AS-168 that I just installed. I have it in the wide configuration, the narrowest vehicle I have lifted was a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Had no problem finding lift points on it. Largest was a 07 Dodge Ram 3500 diesel quad cab long bed, no problems with it either.

Have exact same lift. Go wide. I can lift my 2500 duramax no problem but also have enough reach for a Mini Cooper. Have not found something I can't lift. On a side note one guy on this forum went narrow and had all kinds of problems lifting his wrx.

I have the XPR-10S. Go wide. I can fit my dually in it just fine and also my '56 2-door sedan. No problem with a crew cab long bed here.
