I have a friend that bought a new bp about 2 years ago, 3 pistons, a pump/motor combo, and it came scratched, bent, and banged to sh!t.. I can not say its a lot cheaper, better quality, better looking, queiter, better to use than others I have compared it to, so with all the complaints on the net I cant figure out why people still buy them?
Their low pro is 3.5" minimum contact height, the forward dp10 (I have 2 of these currently, by far the best sub $3K lift I have ever seen.) is the same height,
I got a great deal on my forwards all installed and setup, I have 1 at my shop that has been put up and down more times than you can count and its still working perfect, I also had one installed in my attached garage on my home, hasnt been used as much but again, PERFECT...
If I didnt get such a great deal on them 2 forwards, I think I would have went with the Whip was102e, ANOTHER GREAT lift, all USA made, I actually got a chance to walk through their facility, pretty cool, and a bunch of good guys in there welding their balls off, making really good stuff.. For $3500ish, you get an american lift welded by americans in america, thats pretty good, my brother actually got a good deal on one, he loves it, and I know others with them, you call around and beat them up, you can buy them right...

I really also like rotary, but like mohawk (but not as bad) they are expensive, I don't use them enough anymore to spend DOUBLE on one when the forwards do everything I ask. ALTHOUGH the shockwave system is AWESOME, it goes up and down so fast and quiet that the first time I seen it it was a bit "scary"...
you can get them for $5K shipped,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rotary-SPOA...:g:LEUAAOSwstxVByM8&item=311319332440&vxp=mtr but they are so nice, I believe tire discounters are all using them if you have one by you to go see how it works. I know its only 41 seconds difference BUT, I hate standing their holding the 2 levers waiting, that extra 3/4's of a minute *****...
Especially if you just finished installing a 600hp hemi in your 71 challenger and cant wait to go blow side ways through a few intersections...
I think buying a lift is an important decision, and basing it 100% on price is never a good idea, take a long hard look at what $100 more gets you (the forward dp10), or $500 more (the whip lift), $1200 more (the rotary), $2500 more (the shockwave), $4000 more (the mohawk, lol)...
For the money I vote the forward, for a bit more the whip, for those that want something cool the shockwave is hard to ignore...
good luck, if you are near massachusets gary bloom sometimes has them setup, I know I got a chance to look at the bendpak next to a forward and next to a rotary (non shockwave), and I am confident the forward for the money was the best way to go, for either the pro or the home garage warrior...
