I keep breaking 1/4" quick-change hex x 1/2" drive socket adapters. I just bought a Irwin 1837573. It has the shortest shank I could find. I'm hoping with a short shank the Irwin 1/4" quick-change hex x 1/2" drive Socket Adapter will hold up. Is there a BEST 1/4" quick-change hex x 1/2" drive Socket Adapter?

These I use at work with battery impact wrenches and have no issues.
We use the cheaper ones to weld to 7/8 extra deep sockets. Lots of the other guys who have been rehabbed away from gj just use harbor fright hex adaptors. At home I use the 3/8th above with my fien drill no issues. At home I use mainly with t-20 or t-15 sockets from koken when making furniture or fences. Koken has a few lines of these made different with different part numbers but I can't tell the difference.

I use with my Milwaukee M18 Fuel impact driver to remove/tighten vehicle lug nuts. The M18 produces just the right amount of torque. But every wimpy 1/4" I have tried so far has twisted apart within a few weeks use. I attach the hex driver to my 1/2" deep well impact sockets.

Yeah Negen I'm in the U.S. The "135W-60B koken hex to 1/2" looks very much like the Irwin 1837573 I picked up from Lowes so I have hopes it will hold up.

Milwaukee also has a twister or maybe sidewinder I forgot that I guess is made for these type of 1/4 impact hammers. I have one that is used quite well. We use them for anchor type bolts in 4x4s or securing 600lb machines to bases. I am not sure if this is as much stress as lug nuts or not. It is one of those hard metals vs soft metals issues I suspect. I do not know much about metal types but s2 steel hex bit of any type seem better to me than cr-v.

Easily Grey Pneumatic's adapter. I don't have a 1/2 impact so Ive gone thru plenty of 1/4 hex to 1/2 adapters. I know I using the wrong tool for the job but I use what I have right now.
The Grey Pneumatic adapters have held up the best plus they are shorter than some others. Don't get me wrong the Grey pneumatic will still break, they have just been better than the Dewalt and Irwins Ive had in the past.

I do not think any of them is going to not break.
You may might want to buy the Bosch 18v 1/2 with the 1/4 impact adapter - then you only need a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter.

I tried the HF adapter and it failed. But your right it lasted about as long as the others.
these hold up as well as any other and they are less than a buck for all 3 sizes with coupon.
this is a prime example of using the wrong tool for the job. you need a 1/2 impact or at least a 3/8 and adaptor. using an adaptor in a pinch is fine, get the job done. using it enough that you are breaking them on a frequent basis...........get the right tool and you will have no issues.

this statement is actually wrong as well.
you have too many of the wrong impact drivers and not the one you actually need. color of the tool or battery has nothing to do with it. even if you are stuck on red i am positive there is a red impact that would meet your needs.
