I can explain it for you, but I cannot understand it for you.

If you want something done, find a busy person.

What a man fears says more about what he believes than anything he does.

Work hard and love harder.

Keep it simple because the world will make it complicated.

Take something from everything but take nothing that is not freely given.

Everything you see, hear and feel belongs to you for life, use it wisely.

-From a girl I worked with, in regards to working with her spouse: "You can't have your honey where you make your money"

-From a plastic surgeon I once chatted with: "The enemy OF perfection IS perfection". This goes for body work, woodworking, anything of that sort too; where you strive for perfection, screw it up, then keep heaping repairs on, and it ends up looking worse than if you had just quit a long time ago.

-From a real estate tycoon I was friends with, in regards to trespassing on soon-to-be auctioned vacant properties "Act like you are supposed to be there, and nobody will bother you". I have found this to be true in many cases. Just do whatever you have to do, right out in the open, and people won't give it a second look. If you tip-toe around and keep looking over your shoulder, people will be suspicious of you...

from a conversation with my doctor:
me: before we start don't forget the oath you doctors take
doc: you mean "first do no harm"?
me: no not that one, the other one
doc: what other one?
me: never make a diagnosis you don't have a cure for
doc: yeah I forgot about that one
me: I have just put in place the final piece that I need to guarantee that there is no way I'm dropping dead in my fifties
doc: oh yeah what might that be?
me: I turned 60

'Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's very dark.'

(About ***) 'The position is ridiculous, the pleasure momentary, and the cost is exorbitant.'

(And the one I need to remember more often) ' Better to keep quiet and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

When I was pretty young, around 10, I asked a friend of my uncle why he was getting a divorce. He simply said,

"Marriage is work. When you stop working on it, it dies."

For some reason that always stuck with me. It has, in part, kept me married for the last 22 years.

A female was heard saying:
Yes, my legs are toughing at the top. If you were this close to my lady parts, you would be touching yourself also.

The best boss I've ever had, Joe Comstock (RIP), said this to me, many times. "A woman convinced against her will is of the same opinion still." It's not just for women, either. I believe it's anyone that has any opposing opinion.
