best air chuck?

My reliable ball-style Craftsman air chuck didn't work on my new wheels (it is too bulky), so I got a different style from Northern Tool. It is very simple, and is a dual head model (which I don't need). I find it to be very unreliable...often I need to try to engage it on the stem several times before it makes the right connection with the pin and air actually flows in to the tire...this is very annoying to me!

Can anyone recommend "the ultimate" air chuck? I'm not looking for gimmicks, or even a built-in gauge (I have my Longacre for that), but I am looking for something with a compact head, and that is high quality and very reliable.

Someone mentioned a German company on here. Might want to ask the fellows on the Tools from the Old World Thread.

That Amflo does look cool. The head style is similar to the one on my Longacre gauge, which has proven to be a good design. The head on my gauge is angled from the hose at about a 60* angle, though.

Milton 699 Short chuck, or 690 Long.

Long style is a little better IMHO. Just easier to use.

I havent found a good lock on chuck, Ive tried the milton 698 and it was junk. Wont stay attached.

Any suggestions?
