Best Air Compressor Anti-Vibration Pad ?

Getting tired of my 60g compressor walking around the garage.

So, I want to anchor bolt it down and set the legs on anti-vibration pads, question is, what are the best pads to buy or make and why ?

What material is the best ?
How thick ?
Do you screw the bolts down tight, or leave a tad loose ?

I grabbed a blown retread from off the side of the road. Cut some squares from that to use as pads under a couple of machines, worked great. Search out machinery mounts, that is the correct style of pad to use.

Go to Tractor Supply, and pick up a small piece of their thickest bedliner material...cut to fit under the feet of the compressor, and bolt it down.

As I'm obsessed with my compressors being level and each foot evenly loaded, I prefer the 2 part pads which allow me to shim between the pads until all four pads are perfectly level with each other BEFORE I sit the compressor onto the pads. I then check the pump platform for level in both directions, then use nylock nuts on the wedge anchors, run them down until the contact the washer, then back them off a half turn.

I bought a case of these and love them. Cut one into quarters and put it above the compressor foot to make a sandwich. That way the compressor is isolated in both directions. Works great.

I found one of the rubber pads used for the construction cone markers and cut circles out of that... works great.

I have PT wood so I can move them with pallet jack, then some clips so it can be screwed or bolted to the floor.

Your tank can crack and leak if you bolt it rigidly to concrete without rubber. Why do mine not walk but OP does?

1" thick rubber. I did buy the ones specifically for my compressor but did not use them. They looked like cork board, so I went with 1" rubber.

I installed my compressor about ten years ago withthe square cork with rubber face pads. They collapsed to about a quarter of their original thickness in less than a year so I'm guessing they don't do much to isolate but the big bertha has never moved a millimeter since I dropped it there.

Mine does the waltz around the garage. I let it lead by my feet on top of it.

It was a perody buddy. lol

With nothing between the concrete floor and the feet, it's noisy.

And Modern Garage- since yours shrank.

What happens to the cork when exposed to humidity year after year, or water when washing the floor ?

I'm concerned it will get brittle and fall apart.
