This may be an old thread but still relevant. In my early years of working as a tech in auto dealers I have tried many different brands of boots. Lehigh, Timberland, Timberland pro, Wolverine, CAT, just to name a few. After about six months at the most my feet would be killing me by the end of the day. One of the old timers at one of the dealerships I was working at told me to go up the street to the Redwing store and try on boots until I find what fits. After work I went into the Redwing boot store and tried on boots until I found what I thought I wanted. I purchased the boots and the salesman told me that I have up to 90 days to return them if I find that they are not comfortable. Well after a few weeks and a few returns I ended up with a pair of 2406 boots. I can tell you it killed me to spend over $200 on a pair of boots. Well over 20 years later I'm still wearing the same model boot, I get about 3 years out of a pair before I retire them to home use. You just got to respect a company that takes the time and cost to make sure you are in the correct footwear for your particular feet and occupation. Are these the boots for everyone? Absolutely not! But if you are serious about trying to find the correct boot for your feet you would be doing yourself a disservice not to give redwing a try.
Edit: The best part, they still make the same boot over 20 years later, they don't change styles every year to stay with the in fashion. When it comes time for new boots, I just call the local Redwing store and give them my name and CC number. A few days later a brand new pair of my favorite boots arrived at my house.
