Best Milwaukee M18 drill choice?

My beloved Milwaukee M18 drill seems to be circling the drain. When used in the low speed setting, it slips and grinds under heavy load. I guess years of using it with large hole saws took it's toll. I need to replace it! I'm wondering what the best model is? I have a dedicated hammer drill, and a driver, so mostly it will be used to drill holes, mix paint/mortar/grout, etc. I do use it on the low a lot, as I often drill metal. What's new and improved out there?

The 2604 or 2704 are reasonably powerful. —-3 would be non-hammer

Your drill is more than 5 years old? You can also see how much a “Lightning Max Repair” for your model would be at milwaukeetool.com, but it’s rarely reasonable.

Lately warranty work for me has been 2 weeks, so dunno if you could be without it for 2 weeks anyway.

Milwaukee will fix it if you can still read the serial number

No- it's more like 6-7 years old; definitely more than 5. I'd like to upgrade to a Fuel model anyway, and mine has always had a quirk where sometimes it just won't go. Swap the battery, and it's fine. I've got 5 batteries, so I started to keep track, and it's done it with all 5 batteries at one point or another. After a few minutes use, you can put the battery back on that wasn't working, and it's fine???
