I feel for you and your family, it was easy to tell the relationship you have with your family.
I have been following your thread through the years and have always taken great enjoyment reading your posts with my morning coffee. Thank you for letting us tag along and I hope for you to have great success after this rough patch.

Damn bud. Doing the best with what you have is best you can do, unfortunate or not. Its nice to hear you haven't had to fire-sale everything, and could hang onto some cattle and ground. Even a little of the farm is better than none, in my opinion. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear this news bud. It was always a cool look to see how life working a farm full time goes. I wish you the best moving forward no matter what direction it might be.

Sorry to hear about losing your dad. Thanks so much for posting an honest update, as I'm sure it's tough to share. I've enjoyed reading along your journey and viewing into another's farming ventures. Sad to hear the farm being split apart, but I can understand it happening so easily as well.
Take care of yourself and enjoy the future journeys. I'm sure you'll be farming in the future, even if it's not the way you thought it'd be a short time ago.

That was really hard to read. Losing your dad is one hell of a gut punch, now to see your family's farm go away.

It's a hard pill to swallow, but in the end it may turn out to be the right thing. I've seen more than a few cases where a farmer just keeps on keeping on under a mountain of debt from buying out the previous generation/siblings, hoping one day to finally get out from under the debt. Some do, but for many they work their lives away, missing out on their families, and are left with a broken body at the end and still a pile of debt.

Don't be afraid of a life beyond the farm. Someone of your skillset has a world of opportunities in front of them, many of which won't keep you constantly working and will let you spend time with family.

Wishing you and your family strength going forward and good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Brother I always think of your farm when I'm flying or driving in your general area. I'm still not unconvinced that you all farmed some of my grandparents farm on the river bottoms but they were a little further south down on the line between Perry/n. CG County.

Anyways best of luck to whatever comes your way, and regardless you've still made it a century farm so keep that sign and paint it proudly, you all earned it.
