So if I hadn’t mentioned we had some rain Sunday morning, followed by a little more rain over night Sunday. Naturally, the fields we were going to work in ended up with the most rain. So it’s put field activities to a halt.

Did the daily chore of checking all calves and cattle.

Golden Harvest guy brought by seed corn for us. I may have forgot to mention we received some of our other seed corn last week too.

Got a few “free” things from the Golden Harvest guy.
At the end of the week my dad and uncle are going to their last tractor pull for the winter circuit. With being rained out the fields those 2 spent most of the day getting the pulling tractors ready to go.
While they worked on that I looked over the anhydrous toolbar and made sure things were good to go.

I probably said this last year, but there ain’t much to the old thing. It’s just about shot. Hopefully we can come up with a replacement for it after this year. Just not an expensive one.
After I looked over the toolbar I backed the 7230 in the shop. It is due for service.

It’s hard to get it in the shop since it’s always being used for so many things. But I needs a good inspection done from time to time so it can keep doing all those things.
After dad finished messing with the pulling tractors he decided to at least get a start on his loader bucket project.

He cut the old rusted bottom out of the bucket and got things set up a bit to start on the replacement piece. It’ll be a bit time consuming.
We both quit on what we were working on this evening to split 2 wagon loads of wood.

We finished up just about at dark. It’s still cool enough to keep the stove burning but hopefully these loads will be more than enough until it gets warmer.
That pretty well sums up the day. Other than some news dad failed to mention to me yesterday. Remember that “helpful” friend of his? The one that really pissed me off that one day? Yeah, that guy. He wanted to borrow the 7510 and the wench yet again over the weekend. Dad allowed it. This guy and his brothers were cutting down several trees and were wanting to use the wench to drag them in the woods. But it turns out they completely ruined the wench.

It’s very hard to tell in this picture, partially because you can actually see everything. But for starters I’m not sure why but the bumper part of the wench they bent up all to hell. It looks like the must’ve backed it up on a tree while pulling logs. Things were bent and twisted so much there were even welds broken. But what worse is they even managed to blow apart the gearbox for the wench as well. Then they also bent the output shaft coming from the gearbox driven by the PTO. They basically completely destroyed the entire thing.

They even ruined one of our cables we use to wrap around the logs.
Needless to say I didn’t even know what to say. But I told dad that this had to absolutely be the last straw. There’s no excuse for this. I’ve had enough of it. Dad has apparently been ignoring the guys phone calls the last few days to keep himself from completely going off on him over the phone. I told him he should. But I doubt he will. So I’m sure it’ll be enjoyable to see how all this plays out!
