I guess it depends on what you are doing. I seldom ( if ever) use the bevel option on a jig saw. when I'm scribing countertops I hold the jig saw at a bevel , but can't recall ever adjusting the saw bevel from 90°
Have used it before when I want a very tight fit on something. Gives me a little bit of volume for the glue and needs minimal clamping, just weight to hold it down until the glue dries.
My Bosch plug in has been getting a workout and I did use the 45* bevel on both sides (!) this week to match the bottom of a panel to a steel bracket I made. This 20+ year old saw has the allen key and positive stops bevel setup built in.
