I bought these B2 Beverly Shears probably four years ago at an auction for the princely sum of $35. I couldn't believe that they didn't go higher and considered that a huge score. I really didn't know how much they go for new until I was looking this morning, and the same shears go for about $750.
Anyhow, they were pretty worn looking and I wanted to clean them up. The blades, luckily, were in great shape. I've used them to cut quite a bit of sheet metal.
Attached are the before and after shots. In the before shots you can see my bidder number written in permanent marker by the auctioneers. At least now they don't look like rusty junk (my wife's words). All that I did was disassemble them, strip the parts in the bead blaster, and give them a shot of fresh paint. The blades were left unpainted and were not bead blasted. I stripped them with an abrasive impregnated nylon stripper wheel in the drillpress.
