Okay, I thought he was the guy doing the foundations. See if they'll give you a real quote, if not take your business elsewhere.
This is 2 days after. I got a call in to the concrete guy to see what he says. Then today the wood showed up for the garage walls & the decking for the first floor. They are suppose to fire up the nail gun in the morning 8AM sharp...We will see. This is taking forever it seems.
BTW....it's looking good though. Too bad most members live so far apart. We could hold a garage raising like the Amish do with their barns and saved you a good chunk of your labor cost.
The other side of the header is going in soon. The wall was too heavy to lift if they put both in on the ground. An old fashion barn raising would be cool. For the cost I could have flown some members in.![]()
A trip to the US.
now that would be fun.
Pity I am so busy with my own project > Kool project by the way. I like the pit idea.
Stay tuned.
Big Jim, what is it your doing a midnight dig on the big project?
Well the end of day 5 brings us closer to a roof. The last of the exterior walls are up. Two rooms are roughed in (Her bathroom & bedroom). The trusses are in and all the garage wall bracing has been removed. Tomorrow is truss bracing, sheathing, full roof ice & water shield & shingles (so they say). I think the shingles will go on Monday along with the ridge vent. He said he would have the whole thing framed, sheathed, & roofed in 10 days. Looks like he is ahead of schedule.Next up...wiring.
Stay tuned.
Nice tradeoff!!!Her bathroom and bedroom? Since you got a garage, you get to sleep there and she gets a bedroom and bath.Nice tradeoff!!!

Sounds like you had better take the photos. Looking good.
I take most of them but she does it after I go to work at the end of their days work. I wish I could password protect the camera. Technology isn't there yet.![]()

Man this is getting crazy. I'm busier then a one armed paper hanger with crabs.
