I use everything up to 1 1/2 on nearly a daily basis, so I spent the money on SO wrenches many years ago and they have served me well.
I also bought HF cheapo wrenches for 1 5/8 up to 3" thinking it would be good enough, but I broke a few of them just with my own 2 hands / weight (no cheater pipes). For that bigger stuff, it is usually large hydraulic lines / fittings, not huge nuts and bolts with tons of torque needed (really shocked the heck outta me when one of the HF ones gave out trying to crack loose a simple 1 1/4 pipe thread fitting from a pump). So anymore, I have had better success with just having a couple of large, good quality, adjustable wrenches handy....Plus lots of fittings on equipment is between sizes and not always symmetrical - an adjustable fits better than anything else could.
