I just got an oex54a last week and I was gonna order the oex58a tomorrow, but I'm considering the goex instead because they don't come in full polish chrome anyway just satin finish. I think the goex is about 60 bucks cheaper so I think I can live with black for that price. Just wondering if you guys had any opinions.

If your need is urgent and your set on New, i cant really see any problems with the industrial finish. All my big wrenches > 1 3/8" are all mix and match, but mainly Wright. It's hard for me to stomach the initial cost of New in that area as they can be found much cheaper on down the line. (eBay etc).

all my combo wrenches 1 3/8" - 2" are off shore specials.

bought mail order from someplace like northern tool or HF

they've been hanging in there for 25 years, and haved broken one yet, and it's not like i've been easy on them.

Big is better if it's cheaper...

Cheaper is always better...

Even in my heyday I couldn't break a 2" cheap wrench...

I hear ya, I have cheapies a up to 2 1/2 that I use all the time but I'm filling the sizes they skip. I need 1 11/16 and 1 13/16 more than I ever need the 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 the cheap sets give you. I'm also replacing the worn out sizes because the open end spreads under big loads. I also won't need metric combos bigger than 36 if my SAE set doesn't skip any 16ths. Plus the overseas jumbo metrics are the same sizes as the SAE just metric equivalents.

I use everything up to 1 1/2 on nearly a daily basis, so I spent the money on SO wrenches many years ago and they have served me well.
I also bought HF cheapo wrenches for 1 5/8 up to 3" thinking it would be good enough, but I broke a few of them just with my own 2 hands / weight (no cheater pipes). For that bigger stuff, it is usually large hydraulic lines / fittings, not huge nuts and bolts with tons of torque needed (really shocked the heck outta me when one of the HF ones gave out trying to crack loose a simple 1 1/4 pipe thread fitting from a pump). So anymore, I have had better success with just having a couple of large, good quality, adjustable wrenches handy....Plus lots of fittings on equipment is between sizes and not always symmetrical - an adjustable fits better than anything else could.

I got one industrial finish Snap-on in 11mm. It's a real rough SOB. It'd be perfect for working with transmission fluid.

I've only been using industrial finish wrenches for forty years, so can't comment on the long term durability. Mine only go up to 1-5/8" and I hope never to need anything larger ever again.

Only problem with large adjustables is they don't fit everywhere. I was in a tight spot just yesterday and had to grab a handful of combinations to find the one which fit where the adjustable wouldn't.

I keep one full set to 1 3/8, all SO GOEX, and to 32mm, all GOEXM...I saved a good bit over buying chrome at the time...the industrial finish has held up well over 20ish years on the oldest ones.

I have noticed that now buying the industrial finish doesn't save that much over chrome, at least from SO....in some cases its more.

I've got my SO set in chrome up to 1 5/8" and am finishing out the set with industrial just because they are easier to find cheaper in pawn shops and flea markets. I have a GearWrench set up to 2" in chrome as my second set and they work very well.
