I'm on a mission to not purchase dedicated bit sockets. They're expensive, and when they break they're useless and it seems a shame to throw the whole thing away for a broken tip. So I've got insert bit sockets that work great for smaller torx, hex, and screwdriver bits...but larger things like the larger torx, or allen have eluded me...until now.
Check this out: http://www.bondhus.com/bondhus_products/tool_categories/socket_bits/index.html
And they're IMPACT RATED! "Bits are suitable for use with standard or impact sockets."
The whole set of 4-17mm is $35 on amazon. What do you guys think about these? bondhus has a good reputation, so I'm considering getting some of these for when I need such a thing
