Im interested in getting some LOADpro test leads to compliment my multimeter...ive seen the youtube videos of what its capable of and all the PowerProbe comparisons.
Dont get me wrong, i love my PowerProbe, and couldnt go w/out it, but i have the PowerProbe III w/ the voltmeter on it, and according to these videos LOADpro put out trying to hurt PP3's reputation, its voltmeter is a joke, doesnt show true ground, etc...Shouldve just got a PP2.
Anyhow, i get about a 55-65% discount off Snap-On products while enrolled in automotive program at school. I graduate in less than 2 months, getting everything i can, and i noticed they have a BluePoint LOADpro available for $77.60, part # EECT180.
This seems to be the same thing as Electronic Specialties LOADpro, but i was wondering if anyone is familiar with it. I could get this for a lot cheaper, but instead of red, it'd be blue w/ Bluepoint logo on it. From my experience, lots of Bluepoint tools i own are direct ripoffs of popular tools that Snap-On doesnt have patents for, wondering if anyone has seen it, or knows if its equal to LOADpro or inferior or anything like that.

First, bluepoint tools aren't direct ripoffs, they are rebranded tools. Snap on buys these tools and the rights to resell them. The bluepoint loadpro is the same as the esi one. Here's some reading for you, http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=178561&highlight=loadpro

They arent "ripoffs", they are the exact same tool just rebranded as Bluepoint. The bluepoint loadpro is the exact same tool as the ES loadpro.

Pardon my terminology...i understand Blue Point isnt "ripping off" electronic specialties, they even credit LOADpro on the site's description, just verifying these were the same thing. Just got a quote from my Snap-on guy on it...$28.99!! Even has alligator clips, im excited about the deal i got on it

A lot of blue point tools are just rebranded tools made by a variety of other manufacturers. Yes blue point prices are higher, if you don't have a discount, and most times you can find the original manufacturers and order them. That price is a really nice price with your discount. The inventor, Dan Sullivan, also has a book that is a great tool to go with them. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004IKO09K/?tag=atomicindus08-20. The book is written so it's easily understood and for real world applications. I can't stand to read text books but I sat down and read this book without drifting off.

Also, in my opinion the PP3 and the loadpro are two totally different tools used for different tasks. I use my loadpro for diagnostic work mostly and use my PP3 for installing things like remote starts. They both have their places.
