Bob, don't take any less than 35%. And then..........run.
I don't know about the curse, but you sure can put a beating on someone with an iguana. Can you put a curse on someone with an iguana?

Jim, we don't have a local Whole Goat supermarket and until I get a note from my doctor a drive to Miami is out. Liane might make the drive but going 45mph on I95 is suicide. There is a Western Beef nearby as well as an El Presidente market. The goat meat seems to be seasonal at those stores but I can't figure out exactly what season that is.Miami, Bob
Mr.zippy, Kay has earned the right to my entire herd.Sounds to me like Kay already got your goat!
Kay, together we should be able to make an extremely small fortune peddling it to a **** Pay Per View site. It's a niche audience but they already pay for some really weird stuff. At least that is what I have been told.Nah. You're too late. Within 5 minutes, I had developed the whole mythos, finished the jingle, and roughed out the first 3 episodes. Maybe Fox will buy it?
Kirk, who's this Bob you mention.Bob, don't take any less than 35%. And then..........run.
Drives, I have been here, taking it easy for the 11 days since the surgery. For the first 7 days there were minor improvements but starting last Friday, things changed dramatically every day. The bubble in my eye shrank enough so I could see better around its edges. Then the bubble floated up (it appears to float down from my perspective). My vision also improved over the course of each day until late last night I could read the subtitles on a movie we were watching. I'm not completely recovered but the improvements are coming really fast. I even looked into oncoming headlights when I put the garbage out last night.Bob: best of luck with the recovery and hoping you get great results after doing this. Also I’ve got my views per page setting at 100 and I think you had more than that many posts just today on your thread.
I know you’ll probably rest when you’re dead but take it easy for a few days.
thanks as always for posting old pics of your life!!
Uncle Willie, pretty sure we did that and potentially to more than one person. Can you put a curse on someone with an iguana?
Double replyDouble post
Kay, I try to be respectful because some of my grandchildren had pet iguanas. Not sure what they did with them but I suspect they just let them loose, adding to the problem. From their experience I learned you should never have an iguana cage or enclosure that lets them perch above you -- it eventually makes them aggressive.I don't know about the curse, but you sure can put a beating on someone with an iguana.
Dan, I'm going to go with it just being my imagination. Helps me sleep at night.I'm still stuck on needles appearing and disappearing from sight.

Mr.zippy, the progress is incredible. Once again, fair warning:Any progress on the eyeballs Bob?

Beautiful!
Nice to see (read about) some progress. i am holding both thumbs that it continues for a while.
Aye...I guess that I need to check in more often. I'm missing out on all the excitement
Patrik, thank you and if I hold my head just right I can see two thumbs instead of the usual four. One of the few benefits of having double vision is seeing two thumbs when I look down.Beautiful!
Nice to see (read about) some progress. i am holding both thumbs that it continues for a while.
Kay, thanks and so too. They may test me today.Looks tons better. Hope it performs as good as it looks.
Scott, I didn't plan it but my 'take it easy' stage started in February 2020 with a little heart surgery, followed by prostate surgery in July 2021 and now eye surgery. I feel like that cartoon vulture:Sounds like you’re making good progress Bob. Don’t push too hard, you’re not missing much here ….well, except for Harbor Freight buying all the closed Sears stores….lol

Thanks Pete and I realize I could have cropped the pictures a fair bit more.Looking good Bob... your eye that is!
Pete
Thanks Andrew! That's a great improvement Bob. Keep it going.
Uncle Willie, I've been singing(?) that line for quite a few days. It' starting to piss Liane off because I can read the subtitles on the TV.
Y'sguy, that sounds like me. My first welding helmet was a Harbor Freight $50 special and it worked great for MIG but not so much for TIG. Bought a Jackson Safety model that worked way better. Are you saying that breathing fumes while welding is bad????Thanks for the good update on the condition of the peeper.
Just last week I may have had the settings on my welding mask wrong. Because this week it has been gloppy mucous-filled eyes. Oh, and I might add I probably burned the lining of my throat and nasal passages from inhaling too much of the welding smoke and byproduct. I have had lots of infections and coughing. Even thought it may be C-19 and had a test and came out negative.
I know about all the precautions but yet I still let it happen. So, lesson learned. As usual, the hard way.
Thank you Jim.That was an eyeful Bob, I'm glad you are doing better
Hi Lyndon! How goes the recovery. By now it should be Bob's your Uncle (or at least Bob's your weird other brother).Patrik
Probably good that you told Bob that, because he may not see both.....
Lyndon
Thanks TJ, I'm thrilled with the progress.Bob,
Great to hear things have improved!
Don, this is just a virtual recovery room. Nothing to see here. Take good care of Ann and enjoy the view from the front porch!I guess that I need to check in more often. I'm missing out on all the excitement
Mike, going from seeing nothing to good as new is exciting.Glad to hear you're doing better Bob. Those latter improvements have been huge.
Kirk, will probably learn that from the doctor today!Looks like the eye is getting better. Any idea when you'll finally be stabilized?
Ay Aye Scott!Aye...
Drives, happy Thanksgiving to you and your bride. The closer I get to 80, the more patch-patch- patch seems to be required. In case I get busy tomorrow I want to start my have a nice Thanksgiving wishes to you and Liane. Also best of luck with all the new or recently repaired/doctored parts of you.
Bob (older other brother) - recovery from donating the prostate to pathology research is going well. Recovery from knee replacement - much slower (darn it)! Happy to report the urge to point Steve at the stainless (or Percy at the porcelain if I'm at home) is now receding, and leakage is still zero, though, for confidence sake, I still have my little assistant liner.Hi Lyndon! How goes the recovery. By now it should be Bob's your Uncle (or at least Bob's your weird other brother).
Doctor visit went well. Someone my age is expected to take four weeks to recover so they weren't expecting much. Today was a day short of two weeks. Before they put drops in they gave me the E exam. Had it been later in the day I might have done better but when I made it down 8 lines they seemed happy. Asked if it was OK for me to drive and he said I could easily pass a driver's eye test with either eye. Gave the doctor an 8x10 glossy of the two photos above and it's going in his file. I'm not going to push my luck so I'll be on light (under 10 pounds) lifting for another two weeks. Going to try "Can't cook tonight because that cast iron dutch oven will be too heavy for me to lift."
Thanks Kirk. I'm feeling a lot better (smarter?) about my decision to have the surgery done. That's good news, Bob. I hope it keeps improving at a good clip.
Kay, as little studying as I did it was a wonderful surprise.Yay. Looks like you passed your test.
Lyndon, repairs to my body were heading south for a while. Started with cardiac ablation, then down to the prostate and now up to the head. Hoping to leave the lower extremities alone for now.Bob (older other brother) - recovery from donating the prostate to pathology research is going well. Recovery from knee replacement - much slower (darn it)! Happy to report the urge to point Steve at the stainless (or Percy at the porcelain if I'm at home) is now receding, and leakage is still zero, though, for confidence sake, I still have my little assistant liner.
However, just returned now from an hours test on a virtual golf course (inside, luckily, as it's raining here), and all parts functioned well, and the swing is unaffected, so I'm quite happy with that. Will be playing indoors weekly from now on, and use that as practice for a real game soon...... First time I've picked up a club since the end of last year!
You can probably get away with that excuse for another couple of weeks yet! If I even looked at something heavy during my resting phase I was shouted at....... Sometimes I heard it (had the hearing aids in), sometimes I didn't, and got shouted at louder (as if any excuse was necessary)!
Have fun old mate!
Lyndon
Hubscrub66, I think I'm headed to 100% as I've already surpassed my pre-surgery eyesight scores. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!Glad all is going you way! Hope all recovers to 100%. Happy Thanksgiving
Scott, sure feels like I'm on the mend. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. We're having a great one with no prep, no cleanup and a turkey with all the fixin's delivered around noon by three grandkids. I think the delivery was influenced by the granddaughter who just acquired a new-to-her white Camaro convertible.Bob, sounds like you're on the mend! Happy Thanksgiving to you, Liane and the family.
Uncle Willie, I didn't ask and they only requested photo ID along with primary and secondary insurance. I'm on Medicare with Aetna's Supplement Plan F. It takes care of all of your needs but there's something about Solient Green in the fine print..Soooooo how much is that eye worth now?
Thank you Kirk! And Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.Enjoy your Tg day.

Just stopping by Bob. Sounds like your on the mend and getting better hope your seeing around a bit better each day! Have a great turkey night!
Matt, thanks for the good wishes and they were in a hurry to get back to the party so no time for pictures. It was 77° and overcast so perfect for a top-down run up I95 (I would have taken A1A along the ocean but I'm old and slow and love the scenic routes).Need pics of turkey deliver car if you got them
