Bookshelf vs Standard Girts

I'm in the process of deciding between bookshelf and standard girts. I want to keep the building as best insulated as possible. I originally was thinking of going with bookshelf girts for the ease of insulating and installing interior panels but got to thinking that each bookshelf girt is a thermal bridge in the system reducing the overall R value of the wall. Am I overthinking this? My other though was to get 8 ft wide bats to install between posts and install secondary interior girts on the inside for wiring and panel installation. I believe there will be a cost savings in getting the larger 8ft wide bats and there is a local company makes and sells the large bats. Let me know your thoughts.

Bats of insulation will tend to be more intact with bookshelf girts. If you have 14' ceilings you won't have 14' of bat weight pulling down on the insulation. The horizontal aspect of laying out the insulation should keep it in place better. I've got R19 in my walls with bookshelf girts. Wall thickness will determine R value for bats.

You usually see those large batts in the industrial buildings. Maybe you could check with them for a supplier.

No you are not over thinking it. I recently read a thread on here about this & a solution. Book shelf your girts. Install 4 x 8 sheets of insulation on the exterior taking care to tape the seams & seal it completely. Install steel on exterior. Now you can cavity insulate your interior & finish out your walls.
