Anyone have any experience with Bostitch tools? I've recently seen them in Walmart. They are priced higher than the Stanley tools they have there. I've never heard of them, but they don't look too bad. Just wondering why they are a higher price than Stanley.

I've never used them, only held them in store and played with them. They're homeowner stuff meant for light use. As for the higher prices, its the same thing as gearwrench and crescent roto ratchets. They're the exact same in every manner, same color and grip, with different logo, but crescent is 1/2 the price. Same with the double x joint pliers. Just different grips. It's so they can offer tools to every level of consumer. Only people like us know the true story and can buy from the original manufacturer without mark up.

I saw Chinese made Bostitch ratchets for sale at Menards. I have to pass on Chinese made tools, especially when they are big and clunky like that.

You will also notice the bostitch sets look exactly like dewalt sets. Bostitch = China DeWalt = Taiwan. I have some DeWalt stuff, and its excellent. There's a thread around here that shows that Bostitch , DeWalt and Proto all have the same looking wrench set.

I concur the Taiwan made DeWalt stuff is good. I have their reversible ratcheting wrenches and they are top notch, especially for the price (got 10-piece metric for $35 shipped off eBay).

I haven't used the Dewalt ratchet wrenches, but they look better then my Mac Expert ratchet wrenches. Mac and Expert are also under the Stanley umbrella along with the others mentioned above which is why I brought it up. To be quite honest, I'd go as far as saying the set of Expert xl double box end ratchet wrenches I have are complete junk. The stationary box end looks good, but the ratcheting end is loose & wobbly and sounds like cheap, plastic teeth. I haven't used them on any high torque applications yet, don't know if I'll even bother trying, but I advise against buying them.
